Instructions and manual for Indesit IWUB-4085-(CIS) in Russian

Do-it-yourself repairs, is it worth it?

Whether to start repairs yourself or call a repairman is up to the car owners to decide. It all depends on your own knowledge, skills, financial capabilities, and availability of free time. In any case, this is an excellent way out of a difficult situation, because if the repair is done with your own hands, this guarantees:

  • savings, you only have to pay for spare parts;
  • speed of work, no need to wait for your turn;
  • quality, complete confidence in the correctness of the repairs.

In the vast majority of cases, do-it-yourself repair of an Indesit washing machine is justified, of course, if you have certain skills. It is also worth noting that you can only take on work related to complete or partial disassembly of the machine if its warranty period has expired. Otherwise, this is a loss of warranty with all the ensuing consequences.

Water leakage

The presence of a leak indicates a hole in the rubber cuff sealing the hatch. If the cuff is not damaged, but water is leaking, you should clean the lower part of the door glass from the inside.

During operation, dirt accumulates in this place, worsening the contact between the glass and the rubber seal. To eliminate this problem, simply wipe the glass with a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover.

Washing machines of the Wisl series provide additional protection for the housing against leaks.

How not to load the drum more than necessary

In the same instruction manual, which you have not yet let go of, there is data on the number of things per load. Weight is usually indicated.

Did you know? If the technical specifications say “5 kg”, this is calculated for 5 kilograms of wet things, not dry! Therefore, weighing everything down to the gram does not make much sense.

  • Cotton items for one full load fill the space completely. Just don’t push and compact! Put it in, fill the drum - and you're done.
  • Products made from synthetics fill the space by half (also without effort when laying).
  • Wool products need special care, including in terms of quantity: one full load of wool is a third of the drum.

The main rule is that it should be free inside, nothing can be pushed in. This, firstly, will keep the machine healthy, and secondly, it will allow it to wash perfectly!

Motor brush wear

Graphite brushes are a component of the commutator motor that ensures its rotation. They transmit voltage between a stationary stator and a moving rotor. When the brushes wear out, weak contact occurs between them and the commutator, the electric motor loses power, jerks or does not rotate at all.

Detergent dispenser

A good washing result also depends on the correct dosage of detergent: excess detergent does not guarantee more effective washing; on the contrary, it contributes to the formation of deposits inside the washing machine and environmental pollution.

!

Do not use hand detergents

washing, as they create too much foam.

Remove the dispenser and place detergent or additive in it in the following order.

Compartment 1: Pre-wash detergent (powder)

Before loading washing powder, make sure that compartment 4 for bleach is not installed. Compartment 2: Laundry detergent (powder or liquid)

Liquid detergent is poured in immediately before starting the machine.
Compartment 3: Additives (softeners, fragrances, etc.)
Do not fill rinse aid compartment 3 above the grid.
Additional compartment 4: Bleach and delicate bleach
!

Do not use detergents intended for hand washing - the resulting excessive foam worsens the washing result and can damage the washing machine.

Whitening

! Regular bleach is used when washing durable white fabrics; Delicate bleach can be used on colored, synthetic and wool fabrics.

Tray 4

for bleach is inserted into compartment
1
of the detergent dispenser.
Do not fill Tray 4
above the max mark
(see illustration).
For bleaching only, pour bleach into the accessory insert.

Linen balancing system

Before each spin, to avoid excessive vibrations and to evenly distribute the laundry in the drum, the machine rotates at a speed slightly higher than the washing speed. If after several attempts the laundry is not balanced correctly, the machine will spin at a lower speed than intended.

How to care for household appliances?

Recommendations for caring for the Indesit washing machine:

  1. The body of the device must be kept clean and wiped with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive or alcohol-based cleaners as cleaning agents.

  2. After each wash, you need to remove water from the cuff. Clean it periodically with soapy water.
  3. The detergent tray should be rinsed regularly.
  4. After washing, the hatch is always left open so that excess moisture disappears from the drum and an unpleasant odor does not appear.
  5. Periodically you need to clean the drain and inlet filter, rinse the hose and inspect it for damage.

The body must be level

It is important not only to install the Indesit machine, but also to align it with the floor. This is the only way the machine will be stable, which will eliminate strong vibration, knocking and “jumping” around the room. If you ignore this step, even automatic imbalance control will not save you, and the unit will break down faster and require repair.

Leveling occurs with the help of adjustable legs, making straight lines possible even on curved floors. The fitting process looks like this:

  • put the building level on top of the washing machine and, using it as a guide, unscrew or screw in the legs;
  • we lower our hands to the corners and slowly pump the equipment (if there is no vibration or strong rocking, everything was done correctly, otherwise, we go back and repeat the adjustment);
  • tighten the fixing nuts on the legs using a suitable wrench.

The best test is to start the mode at maximum spin. Even at high speeds, the unit should not move independently in space. Special vibration-smoothing attachments, which are sold in service stores and supermarkets, will also come in handy.

Connection rules

After purchase and transportation, the washing machine is unpacked and installed. Before connecting, you should read the operating instructions, which come complete with a warranty card for service in case of breakdown and a receipt confirming the fact of purchase. The user manual describes in detail the main points that explain how to use the Indesit washing machine for trouble-free operation.

Before installation, be sure to remove the transportation bolts. Level the washing machine as follows: twist the legs under the front of the device for a stable position. This will prevent noise and vibration during spinning.

The drain hose must not be kinked. The drain hole is installed at a height of sixty-five to one hundred centimeters above the floor. Dirty water should drain freely and the end of the hose should not go into the water.

The socket into which the washing machine is plugged in is grounded. The plug must match the type of outlet. It is not recommended to touch wet parts of an electrical appliance that is plugged in: electric shock may occur.

Where to begin?

Working with Indesit equipment is not difficult. The unit is not overloaded with electronics; it does not have large touch panels, color displays or remote control. This makes the machine reliable and easy to use.

To start washing, you must perform the following steps:

  • carefully open the hatch and load dirty things into it in a volume not exceeding the recommended amount;
  • place a carefully measured amount of detergent into the tray;
  • insert the plug into the socket;
  • turn on the power using the general button - “ON/OFF”;
  • set the program selector to the desired position;
  • use the toggle switch to set the temperature and speed;
  • if necessary, adjust the program in accordance with your preferences;
  • press the start button.

First wash

Before using the Indesit washing machine constantly, you should run the first wash cycle. To do this, you need to pour washing powder into a special tray, set the maximum temperature to 90 degrees, without adding laundry. This will remove any possible unpleasant smell from plastic, rubber, or metal components.

Personalized settings

Temperature adjustment The washing temperature is adjusted using the TEMPERATURE regulator (see Program Table). The temperature value can be reduced down to washing in cold water ( ). The machine will not automatically allow you to select a temperature higher than the maximum value allowed for each program.

Additional functions Various washing functions of the machine allow you to achieve the desired cleanliness and whiteness of your laundry. The order of selecting functions: 1. press the button of the function you need; 2. When the corresponding indicator turns on, it means that the function is enabled. Note: If the indicator blinks rapidly, this function cannot be selected for the specified program.

Eco TimeBy selecting this option, mechanical movement, temperature and water are optimized for a reduced load on less dirty cottons and synthetics (see “Program Table”). In the "" mode, you can wash items in a shorter time, saving water and electricity. We recommend using a dose of liquid detergent corresponding to the load size.

! This function is not compatible with programs 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, .

Bleaching A bleaching cycle to remove the most stubborn stains. Pour bleach into optional insert 4 (see Bleaching). ! This function is not compatible with programs 1, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, .

800-400 This button reduces the spin speed. ! This feature is not compatible with programs 8, .

Delay Timer Delays the start of a cycle by up to 12 hours. Press the button several times until the indicator corresponding to the desired delay value turns on. The fifth time you press the button, the function is disabled. NOTE: By pressing the START/PAUSE button, you can only change the delay value downward. ! This feature is compatible with any program.

Electric motor

A commutator type electric motor is installed here.

The most common problems:

  • Brushing of brushes. Occurs if you use the device too often. When starting the program, it does not start working, which indicates a breakdown of the main motor brushes. The parts are paired and must be replaced at the same time for correct operation of the motor.
  • Peeling of lamellas on the collector. The lamellas peel off most often in old devices when the brushes rub them into holes.
  • Break or interturn short circuit in the rotor and stator windings. If there are any signs of winding burning, the motor must be completely replaced.

Electric motor failure is also determined by the lack of rinsing and spinning. If the washing machine heats the water and washes, but when moving to the final modes the engine starts to turn idle, this means that the engine is broken and must be replaced.
