Few people know, but the first washing machine of this brand was produced at home in a garage by Italian Eden Fumagalli together with his three sons. And this happened back in 1945 in Italy. The machine was a simple device with a rotating vertical drum, but at one time it made a splash at the international technical exhibition in Milan.

After numerous offers of cooperation, the Fumagalli family opened the company Candy, in honor of the song of the then famous jazz artist Net King Cole. Thirty years later, the company filled the market not only with washing machines, but also with refrigerators, clothes dryers, dishwashers and microwave ovens, produced under the leadership of the same Fumagalli family. SMA Candy does not squeeze out: what to do?

There are at least five reasons why the washing machine refuses to spin. We list only the typical problems for the Kandy model range. The most common things that break down in washing machines are:

drain pump;
main module controller;
tachogenerator.

Each problem is accompanied by characteristic symptoms, which makes it easier to find the problem. Are you planning to figure it out on your own? Then unplug the equipment and drain the water from the filter.

Drain pump malfunction

The pump removes water from the tank. The device pumps the liquid into the sewer, after which the washing machine begins spinning. The problem may be in the electrical or mechanical part of the pump. To determine the cause, disconnect the hoses from the body and turn the machine on its side. There is a pump under the bottom.

Progress:

Free the pump from the pipes and hoses. To do this, unscrew the fastening screws and press out the clamps.

Inspect the pump mechanism for blockages. Threads and hair often get wrapped around the impeller, which blocks its operation. Remove all debris.
Check the electrical component. To do this, connect a multimeter to the contacts and measure the resistance. Readings 0 and 1 on the screen indicate a motor malfunction, and a three-digit number means a breakdown of the electronic module.

To replace a part, turn the pump to the right and install a working pump. At the same time, clean the pipes and hoses from debris, this also affects the quality of the wash. If everything is fine with the pump, do not rush to assemble the car.

Failure of the speed control sensor

Not far from the pump there is a motor, and on it there is a tachometer. This device monitors the number of engine revolutions, after which it transmits information to the control module. This way the equipment “understands” what speed needs to be set.

But what if the sensor is broken? Then the Kandy machine does not gain momentum and does not spin. As a result, you end up with wet laundry that takes a long time to wring out and dry. The tachometer is located on the engine shaft, so dismantling is not necessary. How to help:

Unscrew the fasteners and remove the back cover of the SMA.
Remove the belt from the tank pulley.
Unscrew the bolts holding the motor and disconnect the terminals.
Inspect the sensor.

Sometimes, due to strong vibrations, the tachogenerator moves out of place and the contacts move away. Reconnect all connections. Check the electrical part. Place the multimeter probes on the sensor contacts. If the readings are 60–70 ohms, then the device is working properly. If not, replacement is required.

Since the middle of the last century, Candy has released hundreds of models of washing machines, and their development is advancing at an exponential rate. Why doesn't the spin cycle work?

The causes of the problem do not always lie in breakdowns. Sometimes the manufacturer is not to blame, but the issue is user negligence, and it doesn’t matter which SMA is regular or vertical. Remember if you changed the settings during the last wash? Here's what to check:

Spin speed. Perhaps the function is completely disabled after washing delicate laundry? If so, then just turn on the program. Increase the speed until the items come out almost dry.
Presence of imbalance. The electronically controlled machine automatically distributes the laundry in the drum. When the system detects an imbalance, further operation is stopped until balance is restored. It is worth stopping the program and distributing the clothes manually.
Drain filter. During operation, debris, hair, and lint accumulate in the filter. It is enough to unscrew the part at the bottom of the housing, replace the container and clean the inlet hole and the filter itself.

Everything has been checked and cleaned, but a bad spin makes itself felt? Then we will have to move on to radical action. Namely, to disassembling and diagnosing parts of the Kandy washing machine.

I’ve been wanting to buy a new compact washing machine for a long time and finally took the plunge and got it at a big discount. The assembly is Russian, the model does not look reliable from the outside, but there is no defect. This is already the third Candy Aqua in my life, unlike previous models it works much quieter and calmer. Small dimensions, many programs, erases clearly. So far I have no complaints, and there is only one strange thing - in the modes I chose a quick wash for 30 minutes, but it turns out that this time does not include rinsing and spinning, so the washing process takes longer. I chose the quick wash mode for 14 minutes - the process lasted 21 minutes. The instructions indicate that this is normal)). PS Still, the programs were not created for the Russian mind. Either there is little water by weight, then the temperature is low, or the duration is long. Well, why do I need to do laundry for an hour, two or more? Or load 1-2 kg of laundry at 20-30 degrees with a low volume of water added. In general, my customizable operating mode was not enough for me...
