Despite the general technological concept of washing machines produced under the same brand, as well as similar features of the series, each modification of the LG automatic washing machine has a unique set of technical parameters. Accordingly, each modification implies specific features of the work, and they are reflected in the description of each item.

The technical characteristics of the model reflect its combined features, including requirements and security mechanisms, methods of working with self-diagnostic tools and a full range of available operations. The factory description usually has a standard information structure, which includes certain sections that reveal the advantages of a particular model, as well as the specifics of working with it.

Immediately after the contents, the document outlines the main consumer characteristics of the purchased model and its advantages. The main functions of the automatic machine are listed in the form of a list with graphic explanations. In particular, modern LG models have the following features, for example:

The drum capacity is quite large. For cotton linen it is 7 kg. For delicate and mixed fabrics, the load will be reduced, but nevertheless it will be 3 – 5 kg (depending on the mode), which is also not small.
The machine achieves high quality washing and preservation of the appearance of things thanks to the “6 care movements” technology. The drum has several rotation options, suitable for different types of fabrics, both for intensive (torsion) and delicate washing (rocking, reverse rotation).
Spin
The maximum spin speed reaches 1200 rpm. The user is also able to select values of 800, 400 revolutions and the ability to cancel the spin. In terms of spin performance, the model is assigned class B, which indicates excellent quality. In this case, the residual moisture content of the laundry can be 45 - 54%.
Additional functions
The LG F12U2HCS2 washing machine is equipped with a delayed start function with a timer up to 19 hours, allowing you to start it at night or in the absence of the owners of the house.
The pre-wash and extra rinse functions expand your washing options.
The automatic drum cleaning mode is activated by holding down a combination of buttons and does not require the use of detergent. The manufacturer keeps up with the times, implementing TagOn remote communication technology here. It allows you to download new modes and programs. All you need is a new generation smartphone with NFC (near field communication) support and a pre-installed LG application for washing machines.
The technology for mobile diagnostics of errors and problems will help determine a possible malfunction remotely. The machine emits a certain sound combination, which codes the type of malfunction. A telephone specialist deciphers the code and recognizes the error.
From a safety point of view, there is partial protection against leaks, auto-balancing of laundry in the drum, which cancels intensive spinning in the event of strong twisting of its contents, a foam suppression system in case of excess detergent, and door locking during operation.
Control
The machine is equipped with electronic control, carried out using an intelligent washing program. This does not require much participation from the user in the process of selecting washing parameters.
The built-in laundry recognition system automatically selects the most suitable program, which the user can edit by reducing the wash temperature, spin speed, adding an additional rinse or canceling the spin altogether. By the way, the machine also weighs the laundry independently.
The control panel consists of a rotary program selector and a touch display. The display has icons for the stages of the work cycle, indicators for spin and temperature settings, as well as for additional functions. The total operating time and countdown timer are displayed. The machine emits melodious sound signals that accompany the pressing of buttons and the end of the washing cycle. The sound is muted if necessary.
The control panel can be locked against accidental pressing.
Design and dimensions
The LG F12U2HCS2 washing machine looks especially impressive. The body is made in white. The chrome-plated loading hatch door has a black trim that stands out against the background of the body.
The tank is 45 cm deep, allowing the car to be classified as narrow. The remaining dimensions correspond to the standard: width – 60 cm, height – 85 cm. Adjustable legs vary the height within 10 mm, which avoids distortion even on an uneven floor. If necessary, the top cover of the housing can be removed and the machine can be built into a kitchen unit.

“Specification” is the first section, which may differ for each LG automatic washing machine. Using pictures and text, this section of the manual provides information about the design features of the device, the scope of delivery, and assembly methods before use.
Keep in mind that one manual may be issued by a manufacturer for several models, so the “Specifications” section may contain several characteristics at once, located in separate columns. For example, the F1222NDR5 is more powerful than its predecessor, supports larger loads (6kg vs. 4kg) and uses more wash water. In the factory description you can find out the exact overall dimensions. The depth of the device in the range of 550-600 mm immediately classifies the modification as a narrow model.
Installation
The “Installation” section describes in detail the start of operation, unpacking, connecting and installing the washing machine. Please note model specific features including the need to save the transport kit for re-transport and keeping track of recommended installation distances, even in shallow depths of up to 450mm or 550-600mm.
General requirements include the need to dismantle the transportation bolts, which act as fixing elements for the internal structure. Such errors and inattention can lead to the failure of a new washing machine.
The installation requirements contain detailed recommendations for the power line. For F1222NDR5 it must withstand a load of 2.2 kW; for these purposes it is recommended to install a separate line with a circuit breaker. It is not recommended to use old, unsuitable or damaged sockets. All LG models are designed to be connected to a grounded electrical network and have Direct Drive. For F12U2HCS2, it is better not to violate this requirement, since equipment of this class is expensive and may fail. The operation of the LG Direct Drive washing machine must also meet the requirements.
First disappointments
You may have noticed in the photographs that the machine's power button is taped over. The fact is that it is not protected from accidental pressing. At the same time, it is located at the bottom of the panel, is highlighted and produces melodies when pressed. It is not surprising that the one-year-old child actively used it, periodically interrupting the wash cycle. What makes the situation worse is that when the lock is activated, the automatic restart does not work. You have to start the wash all over again. And if you select a mode with automatic weighing, the washing time will increase several times, because wet laundry with water will be perceived by the system as a tank filled to capacity. This is how big difficulties arise from small things.
Using the washing machine
This section covers in detail the process of domestic use and the capabilities of each individual model. For example, the top-selling F12U2HCS2 supports steam washing and stain removal modes, thanks to which the device copes with the most difficult stains. The features of this machine include minimal consumption of water and electricity, which is very important with the increase in housing and communal services tariffs, as well as reliability, thanks to Direct Drive. The technological solution of the F1222NDR5 is a little simpler, but also much cheaper.
In the subsections you can find detailed information about washing different types of products, recommendations for loading certain items in order to obtain maximum cleaning quality. Getting to know your new washing machine
The first impression was wonderful: the machine looks good. But the huge tank is just a visual effect. In fact, it is quite standard in size, and there is a decorative plastic screen on the outside.

The machine operates almost silently. It is advisable to use the special quiet washing mode only at night. At the end of the cycle, a pleasant melody plays and characteristic clicks are heard. The washing machine does not move due to vibration. Moreover, the objects living on it do not move either.
