History of the Siemens brand
It's hard to imagine that Siemens was founded more than 150 years ago by the German engineer and scientist Werner Siemens. Initially, the company was engaged in the creation of electrical medical devices, and now, being one of the largest manufacturers, it is represented by an incredible number of products: from medical equipment and energy equipment to electronics and household appliances. The company develops high-tech innovative products and leads the market.

Siemens washing machine breakdowns
Siemens brand washing machines are examples of German quality: they have a large selection of programs, a nice design, a user-friendly control system and, in most cases, they work properly for many years. But, unfortunately, even such reliable equipment sometimes breaks down. According to the experience of RemBytTech specialists, the following components most often fail in Siemens machines.
Breakdown of the heating element (heating element) – from 1700 rubles
Impurities from tap water, undissolved particles of detergents, small debris and lint from things settle on the heating element and form a layer of scale. As the heating element becomes overgrown with plaque, its heat transfer decreases. In an effort to compensate for weak heating with more intense work, the heater works “to wear out”. As a result, the heating coil of the heating element burns out or its body burns out.
SIGNS
The Siemens washing machine does not heat the water. Older models can go through the entire wash cycle without heating, while more modern models interrupt the wash with error F19 on the screen. Sometimes the washer can “knock out plugs.”
HOW TO FIX
The heating element is replaced with a new one.
Malfunction of the drain pump - from 1900 rubles
The second most common failure of Siemens is the failure of the drain pump. As a rule, it breaks due to debris and foreign objects (clothing accessories, threads, coins, hairpins, etc.) getting into it. When debris gets into the impeller, it blocks the blades. Trying to turn the impeller, the pump motor wears out. As a result, either the blades break off or the pump motor burns out.
SIGNS
Siemens does not drain water or drains very slowly. If the motor fails, you cannot hear the sounds of the pump and the water does not drain at all. When the blades break, the motor makes noise as usual, but the water drains slowly. Errors F03 or F18 may appear on the display.
HOW TO FIX
The technician inspects the drain pump. If it is intact, but clogged, it cleans it. If the blades or motor break, replace the drain pump with a new one.
Abrasion of motor brushes – from 1700 rubles
Graphite brushes ensure the transfer of voltage from the stator to the rotor in the motor. Over time, they wear out and engine power decreases. When the brushes completely lose contact with the commutator, the engine stops turning the drum.
SIGNS
The Siemens washing machine initially does not reach high spin speeds, and then stops rotating the drum altogether. Sometimes users notice that the machine sparks. Error code F12 may appear on the display.
HOW TO FIX
The brushes are replaced with new ones.
Breakage of the hatch handle – from 1600 rubles
The handle helps to open and close the hatch of the washing machine. Most often it breaks due to the use of excessive physical force.
SIGNS
In the Siemens washing machine, the hatch does not block, and the wash does not start, because due to damage to the handle, the tongue does not fit into the groove, and there is no usual click when closing. Errors, F16 or F34, may appear on the screen.
HOW TO FIX
The handle is replaced with a new one.
Failure of the control board (electronic controller) – from 2400 rubles
The control module is a microcircuit that contains the operating algorithm of the washing machine. Like any electronics, they can fail due to power surges or moisture. As a result, individual radio elements on the board burn out, the tracks and contacts of the elements burn out or oxidize. Sometimes the firmware crashes.
SIGNS
Board failures lead to a wide range of symptoms: the machine may not turn on, may not fill or drain water, jump from program to program, etc. Errors F03, F10, F36, F42, F59, E02, F67 and others may appear on the display.
HOW TO FIX
You will need to conduct a full diagnostic of the board. Based on its results, the technician carries out repairs: replaces burnt-out radio elements, solders faulty tracks and contacts. If a firmware failure is detected, the module memory is reprogrammed. In case of serious damage to the board (such as processor failure), the board is replaced with a new one.
Damage to the hatch cuff – from RUB 1,900
The rubber seal on the door of a Siemens machine is often damaged by objects and clothing accessories left in pockets (zippers, bra underwires, buttons, etc.). Sometimes the cuff becomes unusable due to old age or the formation of black mold on it.
SIGNS
If the cuff is leaky, the washing machine leaks from below. Siemens with a display can report a leak with code F04.
HOW TO FIX
The leaky cuff is replaced with a new one. If the puncture is small, it can be sealed. However, experts do not recommend using patches, as this only helps for a short period of time.
Bearing wear – from RUB 4,000
Smooth rotation of the drum is ensured by a pair of bearings. Unfortunately, often due to vibration loads or regular overload of the washing machine with laundry, the seal loses its tightness, water gets into the bearings, and they begin to rust and collapse.
SIGNS
The Siemens SMA makes unusual sounds: it rattles and rattles during operation. During the spin cycle, the sounds become louder and the machine does not spin. The drum, if you shake it by hand, has an unusually large play (dangles). If the bearings are completely destroyed, the drum may “jam” or fall down. If you disassemble the washing machine, you can see rusty water leaks from the bearings on the tank.
HOW TO FIX
The bearings and seal are replaced with new ones.
Malfunction of UBL (hatch blocking device) – from 1600 rubles
The hatch locking device is responsible for fixing the SMA door. When it fails, the washing machine does not lock the door and the wash does not start. In the UBL, the thermal tablet is destroyed or the bimetallic plate loses its flexibility, which during normal operation bends when heated by the tablet, and the machine blocks the hatch.
SIGNS
Siemens does not block the door and does not start washing. In models with a screen, errors F16, F34, F36 may appear on the display.
HOW TO FIX
The hatch locking device needs to be replaced with a new one.

Equipment assembly
Quite often, buyers make conclusions about the quality of products based on data about the country of manufacture. But the desire to purchase a German-assembled product is not justified. Everything that the company produces is tested equally at the enterprises.
Expert opinion
I work in the household appliance repair industry. Extensive experience in restoring washing machines and dishwashers.
Ask a Question
An important fact: Russian-assembled products enter the European market. Therefore, it is difficult to doubt the reliability of such technology.
Siemens washing machines are produced in Germany, Russia, China, Spain and Turkey. Therefore, it is not so important where the assembly takes place. The manufacturer is fully responsible for warranty obligations for all its products.
Company Features
Fraudsters try to counterfeit any popular product, and washing machines from well-known brands are no exception. Therefore, you should pay attention to such nuances as:
- Selling price. Indeed, a German machine cannot, it costs much lower than the market price;
- Correct documents. A real washing machine from Germany always has a passport translated into Russian;
- Quality information. All imported goods must undergo certification in Russia, regardless of where they were imported from;
- The room in which the unit is sold. Counterfeits are often sold in small shops of dubious origin or in online stores. There is a much lower chance of being deceived in large supermarkets, whose status is documented.
Technical features of washing machines
Siemens produces not only washing machines, but also washer-dryers, which are distinguished by the presence of condensation drying. Smart Siemens equipment, in which everything is thought out to the smallest detail, provides excellent cleanliness results, treats things with care, is simple and easy to use, and is equipped with the necessary functions:
- energy saving mode;
- optimization of water and detergent consumption;
- internal drum lighting;
- child lock keypad;
- variety of modes;
- clear interface;
- automatic recognition and removal of excess foam;
- multi-level protection against leaks;
- cascade wetting;
- additional rinsing that protects sensitive human skin from allergic reactions;
- convenient handle location;
- timer.
The list of basic options shows that the manufacturer takes into account all modern requirements for the washing process and quality, and also strives to ensure safe operation and resource saving.
Washing machine "Siemens"
An ideal result is the main indicator of the high-quality operation of household appliances. But Siemens does not stand still; engineers develop and complement machines with useful innovations that make human life more comfortable and carefree:
- The sensoFresh function removes odors using active oxygen without water or detergent.
- i-Dos technology is a powder dosing system with milliliter precision. Sensors record the load volume of laundry, the degree of soiling, and even recognize the type of fabric.
- The stainRemoval system is designed and automated to remove the most stubborn stains and heavy soiling.
- The varioSpeed function allows you to get clean clothes in 65% less time, the workflow adapts to the efficient workload.
- The iQdrive engine reduces energy consumption, speeds up operating cycles and makes it as silent as possible.

Consumer Reviews
I bought the machine to replace the Ariston Margarita 2000, which worked for 13 years, but recently it stopped washing things properly, I had to run 2 cycles, and it lost its normal appearance. At first I chose the Siemens WS 12G240, but since there was a discount on this model, I bought it for 18,500. I’m happy with the choice, I’m very pleased with the quality of the wash, the child plays sports - short washing programs help to refresh the shape, it’s quiet (compared to the Ariston), no water remains in the rubber seals of the lid after washing and this is good, the cuvette is automatically washed and remains clean . All washing programs have already been tested, no complaints, only positive.
Siemens WS 10K240Alexey
We chose Siemens because it was a German design, Russian assembly, the Chinese didn’t touch it))) especially since 2 years ago I bought a Siemens for my mother, it works, doesn’t make noise, doesn’t dance, no complaints at all. I spent a long time choosing a machine, I wanted to buy it with a dryer, and then I thought that for a family of 3 people there was nothing to dry, and there was no point in overpaying for the functions. And in addition, I don’t use programs much. For me, the main thing is that it should be FAST 15/30, a spin of 1200 rpm is just right!!! and so that there is a separate spin function. I didn't find this with LG. I'm happy with the machine. )))) I recommend it!

I recently bought this washing machine and have no regrets. I'll start with the good stuff. The car was chosen from middle-class models and, in principle, this one matches it in price and characteristics. The variety of programs is amazing. It washes well, with high quality. Each washing step is shown on a clear display (wash/rinse/spin/drain). The machine is also suitable for those with allergies or small children, since this model has a washing function in which the laundry is rinsed more than usual (super rinse). Doesn't make much noise. The design is nice, the program buttons are all labeled, which means what. Well, in general, if you want to buy a not very expensive, but high-quality machine, then take this one.
Siemens WS 10G140Daniil
More than 5 years of operation, quiet, does not vibrate, but does not rinse clothes well. In normal washing mode, white spots from the powder remain, you have to use liquid powders. In my opinion, when rinsing, it pours little water into the drum (since it’s an ECO machine) like to save money and you have to turn on the button for the additional 2nd rinse and then how much water can you save. P.S. and liquid powders are more expensive than regular ones. Before this there was another machine with something to compare with.

Assembly of washing machines in other countries
Assembly at the St. Petersburg plant had a bad impact on the quality of even such well-known and reliable washing machines as Bosch and Siemens. According to statistics, domestic washing machines work without any problems for about five to seven years. Then, like devices assembled in Germany, they do not break down for 15 years. Despite this significant drawback, domestically assembled cars are in demand, as they are much cheaper than their German counterparts.
It’s difficult to find a truly German-made machine, but it’s possible. You should start by visiting the company’s official website and finding a representative office in your city, where you will then go. When buying a model you like, you need to look at the plate on the back wall of the unit, which indicates the country of assembly.
Usually, counterfeits are not expensive, since there is no point in counterfeiting an expensive product and selling it for the same price. And in order to produce an ordinary washing machine, start-up capital will be needed at least a billion dollars.
Several models of Siemens washing machines are assembled at Russian enterprises. These are WS 10G140 with a white body, WS 10G240, WS 12G140, WS 12G240 and WS 12G24S in silver.
The policy differs from all others in that the company is fully responsible for the warranty of all its products, even if they are assembled in other countries.
