Some models of Ardo washing machines with a MINI-SEL electronic module have an internal diagnostic system. With its help, you can check the basic operating modes of the washing machine and monitor the performance of its units.
Before starting the washing machine in test mode, power and water must be connected to it.

To start the test mode, you need to perform the following operations:
- Set the programmer knob (No. 1 in the figure above) to the DELICATE WASH position 40 °C;
- Set the spin speed knob (No. 7 in the picture) to the 9 O’clock position;
- Click on button #2. Without releasing button No. 2, turn on the power to the washing machine using button No. 3.
After performing these operations, all the wash phase indicator lights (No. 4) should light up.
After this, the first stage of the internal test is performed. During it they test:
- The performance of the temperature sensor (is there a break or short circuit);
- Serviceability of the water level sensor (pressostat). The closure of its contacts during normal operation corresponds to the position NO WATER IN THE TANK;
- Operation of the hatch locking device.
If the check does not reveal the presence of defective units, the first upper lamp of the wash phase indicator No. 4 should go out.
Also, during the first stage of the internal test, you can check the functioning of buttons No. 2, 5, 6. To do this, you need to click on the corresponding button. After the first press, the operating button is illuminated, after pressing again, it goes out.
After this, you can complete the test, or continue its execution (steps 2-5), gradually turning the programmer knob (see table)

ON/OFF: To turn on the machine, pull the programmer handle towards you or press the on/off button (if provided), after which the control light should light up.
Temperature limit button: By pressing this button the temperature can be limited to 60° when the temperature control knob is set to a higher value.
Cold Wash Button: Pressing this button turns off the heating element and washes in cold water.
Rinse off button: When this button is pressed, the washing machine will automatically stop after the last rinse is completed and before the water is drained. In this case, the laundry remains immersed in water and does not wrinkle. This function is only applicable for synthetic and wool washing programs.
Spin Off Button: When this button is pressed, the washing machine will perform a wash cycle without spinning.
Economy button: Pressing this button reduces water and energy consumption. This function is used if the weight of the loaded laundry is less than 3 kg.
Extra rinse button: The washing machine is adjusted to minimize water consumption. As a rule, three rinses are sufficient. For areas with very soft water and for washing items belonging to people with allergies to washing powder, a button is provided that allows you to program an additional rinse cycle.
550/MAX Spin Speed Button: This button is used to switch the spin speed from minimum to maximum (maximum spin speed varies by model). If your machine has a spin speed control knob, it should be set to the desired speed.
Attention: This function is only applicable when using vigorous wash programs. When performing washing programs for delicate fabrics and wool, regardless of the position of the regulator, the spin speed will be 550 rpm.
Thermostat knob: Using the thermostat knob, you can set the desired washing temperature. To do this, turn the handle to the right and set it to the desired position. To select the correct temperature, please refer to the program table.

First actions
Breakage usually becomes known during washing. First of all, you should make sure which modes have stopped working (rinse, drain, spin). To do this, you need to turn on the “water drain” mode. If it doesn’t work, drain the water yourself and proceed to the initial diagnosis.
Checking the operation of the drain system
It is necessary to check the operation of the water drain system in the machine. The system itself consists of the following parts:
- programmer;
- pressure switch;
- drain hose that drains water into the sewer;
- filter;
- pump;
- hoses.
A blockage anywhere in the drainage system can cause the rinse mode to fail. To fix the problem, you need to find the location of the blockage and remove it. This sometimes requires minor disassembly of the washing machine.

To enable test mode, proceed in the following sequence:
- set programmer knob 1 (Fig. 1) to the “40 ° C, DELICATE WASH” position;
- press button 2 and, holding it, turn on the power supply to the SM with button 3.
After this, the indicator lights for spin speed 4, wash phases 5, and all display segments 6 light up.
Next, the first step of the internal test is performed, during which the following is checked:
- serviceability of the temperature sensor (for open circuit and short circuit);
- serviceability of the pressure switch (water level sensor). The closure of its contacts must correspond to the “NO WATER IN THE TANK” position;
- hatch blocking device.
If during the inspection no defective elements were identified, the first light on the top of the wash phase indicator 5 (Fig. 1) goes out and the message “1.25” is displayed on display 4.
During step 1 of the internal test, you can check the functionality of buttons 2, 7, 8, 9 (Fig. 1): when you press the corresponding button, it lights up, and when you press it again, it goes out.

Only one speed indicator light will be illuminated during this step. By pressing buttons 10 - “START” and 11 - “DELAYED WASHING”, their functionality is also checked (lights up and goes out) - see above.
Then, if necessary, subsequent steps of the internal test are performed (see Table 1). The transition from one step of the internal test to another occurs with a delay of several seconds; for this it is necessary to move the programmer knob to the appropriate position (see Table 1).

Troubleshooting
If the washing machine does not wash clothes well, then the drum may have been overloaded during washing, or an insufficient amount of detergent was added. It is recommended to put in the amount of powder that is required and review the number of things put in the machine.
If the spin cycle was poor, a low speed may have been selected, or the items may have been unevenly distributed in the drum. The last problem occurs when washing a small number of items. It is necessary to properly distribute things in the drum.
Removing pump blockage
To remove the blockage, you need to open the drain pump cover and unscrew the screw that holds it in place.
- Unscrew the drain filter cover. Drain the water.
- Then turn the pump counterclockwise, pressing it into the inside of the machine.
- Then pull it out through the bottom of the washer. Place the machine on its side and remove the pump.
- Disconnect the wires, clamps and remove the fittings suitable for it.
- Now you can clean the pump and put it back in the same way.
What to choose: powder or gel
The choice of detergent has nothing to do with the icons on the washing machine. The operation of the unit does not depend on what the user has poured inside.
