Some programs may already have a super rinse enabled by default. If the layout of modes includes “hypoallergenic washing”, “hygiene”, “Aqua+” and some other similar modes, then the laundry will not only be washed well, but also rinsed more thoroughly than in the standard normal mode.

The built-in computer regulates the processing process. This allows you to select the correct temperature for the characteristics of the material and wash it carefully.

Purpose
In some cases, it may be necessary to rinse the laundry more thoroughly than suggested by the program. In such situations, an “extra rinse” comes to the rescue.
In most washing machines, this option can be activated by pressing only one button on the control panel.
It can be called “extra rinse”, “super rinse” or indicated by a characteristic symbol - a container with a wave or dashes , simply wavy lines imitating the surface of the water.
This mode makes it possible to rinse the laundry more thoroughly – more than once. In this case, the rinsing stage takes place fully - with the addition of water, rotation of the drum and draining.
How to use the option
Additional rinse steps when this option is in addition to the standard program:

How does super rinse work?
In addition to the main washing mode, rinsing can be run separately in washing machines.
This approach allows you to rinse clothes without washing . This may be necessary when rinsing items that have been washed by hand.
It is also possible to start rinsing followed by spinning if the laundry removed from the drum after washing retains detergent residues.
Setting the mode is very simple. Depending on the model of the washing machine, starting is carried out by pressing a button or turning the toggle switch and setting it to the desired position.
It is not always possible to select such additional processing immediately with the cycle - there may be restrictions on a specific program.
to set another rinse more often on short programs that last up to half an hour, and with a gentle treatment that simulates hand washing:

This is due to the fact that already short programs cannot be shortened in terms of running time in order to add additional rinsing.

Eco-bubble
The technology uses air bubbles rather than water to remove dirt. They are formed during the process of mixing water and washing powder, which then enters the generator located under the drum. The resulting bubbles penetrate inside through holes located on its surface.

Steam wash

Bio wash
A prerequisite for the program is that the water can only be heated to 40 degrees. If you exceed this figure, the enzymes included in the detergent will become inactive.
Essentially, bio-washing is a preliminary program. But it should not be confused with soaking. When selecting this program, the SMA will first start the enzyme activation cycle and only then, when it is completed, will continue the process as usual. Bio-wash allows you to effectively remove stains, improving the quality of the final result.
How to find the icon on washing machines from different manufacturers?
For different manufacturers, additional rinsing can be activated in different ways, most often by a separate button with a caption and/or icon:
- on machines this is a “super rinse”;
- Samsung allows you to set the number of rinse cycles (from 1 to 5), which should be selected before starting;
- Bosh – verbal description in Russian;
- Ariston, Zanussi – designation – icon in the form of a pelvis;

You can clarify the exact designation of the mode on the control panel according to the instructions that come with the washing machine, and take into account the features of the specific model of the device.
It is also necessary to analyze the documentation for the washing machine in the case where, due to time and frequent use, the mode designations have been completely or partially erased from the surface of the case.
Some washing machine manufacturers have a built-in “dark clothes” program, which already includes more thorough rinsing to avoid light powder stains on clothes.
Impact on total cycle time
An additional rinse adds a few minutes to the total wash time. Different manufacturers have different cycle lengthening times .
How long does the rinse last? In most models - about 5-10 additional minutes, but there may be an increase in time up to 20-30 minutes, depending on the SMA model and the ability to adjust the settings.
Plus, there is a small additional consumption of water and electricity . Ignoring additional rinsing as a mode only slightly saves time and resources.
If there is an urgent need to rinse your laundry well, this mode should not be neglected. Most modern washing machines perform additional rinsing as economically as possible.
Water temperature
After the heated water in which the clothes were washed is drained, the washing machine begins to draw new water from the water supply. In this case, cold water enters the drum . Depending on the region and time of year, it may be warmer or colder. It is used in the same form during rinsing.
To ensure high-quality rinsing, the washing machine starts the rotation of the drum. During processing, things are constantly turned over. This helps to better remove all detergent residues, regardless of the temperature of the tap water.
For automatic washing machines, you should choose only those powders and gels that are designed for this. Hand washing products must not be used.
Washing rules
- Be sure to sort your laundry by fabric type and color. It is convenient to do this in advance by dividing the dirty laundry basket into compartments (plastic dividers are sold in hardware stores). This way you will save time and will be spared the need to dig through dirty laundry.
- Be careful when choosing a detergent . It is optimal to have in your home not only general-purpose powder, but also detergents for wool and silk, sports and membrane fabrics, as well as bleach. It is enough to turn black items inside out before washing, as modern dyes do not fade so easily.
- Try to choose the right washing mode , temperature and spin speed. As already mentioned, it is necessary to focus on the labels that clothing manufacturers always supply their products with, but if such information is not available, you can use the recommendations above.

Using the “extra rinse” option may be recommended in the following cases:

- the detergent has performed poorly in previous washes;
- when washing children's clothes.
When handling small items, rinsing the laundry well is very important. Children's skin has increased sensitivity to the effects of chemicals contained in powders. Even special children's washing detergents, if they remain even in small quantities on things, can cause irritation and provoke an allergic reaction.
It is also possible to introduce another rinse if the detergent has not dissolved well. In this case, not only are things poorly washed, but also undissolved granules remain on them or whitish stains form.
If an item has been washed unsuccessfully, it does not have to be washed again through a full processing cycle. It is enough to set one more rinse with spin.
In the case when the detergent is used unsuccessfully, you can immediately, even before starting the main cycle, install an additional rinse. This will avoid a situation where the powder literally eats into the fabric.
Almost always, the rinse is followed by a spin cycle, which completes the washing machine’s operating cycle. But some types of fabrics can be processed without spinning at all or at minimal speed. For example, delicate materials.
Easy ironing
This program significantly simplifies ironing after washing, since the laundry is almost not wrinkled, and the bends and creases on the fabric are much less pronounced. However, it won’t be possible to do without ironing completely.
How it works? By turning on this function, the washing machine will exclude intermediate spinning, and rinsing will be carried out with a large volume of water.
Advantages:
- ironing time is reduced;

- less energy is consumed.
Flaws:
- takes longer to dry;
- The washing program lasts longer;
- You still can’t do without ironing;
- It will not be possible to load the drum completely.
When choosing “light ironing”, keep in mind that you will only be able to wash ⅔ of the normal load. It is also important to control the amount of detergent; an excess of it can remain on the laundry in the form of stains and a strong odor. The program extends the duration of the wash in general, plus a couple of hours will be spent drying the clothes. If you need an item urgently, it is better not to select this function. When taking out the laundry, do not rush to iron it immediately; it must first dry out.
