Eurosoba washing machines, compared to other European brands, are not popular among our consumers. But the reason for low demand is not high cost or low quality, but the lack of advertising. The manufacturer does not spend money on promotion, and its products are cheaper. And anyone who is looking for a compact washing machine online will, with a 99% probability, come across models offered by this company.
A country-
Eurosoba is a Swiss manufacturer that emerged as a result of the merger of Eudora and its dealer Soba Trading. Since 2004, automatic washing machines (WMA) have been sold in Russia. One of the main bets of the manufacturer is quality. SMA is produced in Switzerland. Trademarks of this country are in a “privileged” position. Over the course of their history, Swiss manufacturers have created such a reserve of quality that today products produced in this country do not need advertising.
Where are Eurosoba automatic cars produced?
The history of the Swiss company began in 1947 in Austria. Then the Austrian Karl Steiniger founded a small company, Eudora, which specialized in the manufacture of washing units. After a couple of years, the brand managed to take a leading position in its country.
In 1950, the first washing machine “Eurosoba” was released. And six years later, the world saw the Kangaroo washing machine, which could not only wash clothes, but also spin and even heat water.
Since 1965, production of more modern models under the Austrian brand began. They had almost the same basic parameters as the current Eurosoba units: capacity - up to 3 kilograms, full automation and small size.
In the 70s, Eurosoba engineers developed a super-small washing machine, Eudora-Goldkind, which is still the smallest in the world.
Since 1980, the Austrian company has been supplying its goods to various European countries, including Switzerland.
So, in 2003, the Eudora brand and the Swiss brand merged. As a result, a new company, Soba International Trading AG, was formed on the basis of the latter.
Switzerland is considered to be the manufacturing country of Eurosoba washing machines, although most of the products are produced in Austria.
In the late 90s, equipment was supplied to Russia and other CIS countries under the Evronova brand. Now goods for European consumers are produced under the Soba brand, and for Russians - Eurosoba.
Next, let's talk about the features of washing machines and their main advantages.
SMA EuroSOBA device
The main difference between all Eurosoba washing machines is their size. The brand offers small-sized washing machines. Looking at the small machine, it immediately becomes clear that it will fit under the washbasin. Swiss washing machines are ideal for tight spaces and small families.
The same company also produces sinks of a special design - for its washing machines. The brand's products also include kitchen sets—a tiny machine that can be placed in a closet.
Despite their small dimensions, Eurosoba SMAs have full functionality. Moreover, they are superior to many full-size devices in terms of the quality of components and assembly.
Advantages and features:
- Compactness. The maximum height is 68–69 cm, which is 17–20 cm higher than the standards. Depth and width are 45–46 cm, which is comparable to narrow full-size cars.
- Loading. New models with the same dimensions have a load of not 3, but 4 kg. This is quite enough to serve a small family.
- Weight. The little ones weigh 2–3 times less than full-size devices. Their weight is from 36 to 50 kg. They are easy to carry, transport, and reinstall. Moreover, one of the models - Eurosoba 600 - is even equipped with special handles to make it easier to carry. All cars are on wheels.
- Equipped with sinks. The main concept of the manufactured SMAs is machines for installation under the sink. So that the consumer does not have problems with placement, the manufacturer produces special “water lily” sinks with different designs.
- Durable coating. The case has a special super-durable coating - it does not wear off throughout the entire period of use.
- Convenient controls. There is a convenient panel with rotary handles.
- Durable and durable tanks. All SMA tanks are made of stainless steel.
- Multi-colored panels. The manufacturer offers replaceable color panels. You can change the color of your car without calling a technician; changing the panel is very easy. The range of panels is available in red, blue, yellow, white, green, black and silver.
Flaws:
- Limited selection. The manufacturer offers only a few models. But considering the dimensions and the tasks set - to wash well, not break and take up minimal space, this state of affairs is the most appropriate.
- High price. Consumers do not want to buy a small car at a price of 40,000–70,000 rubles. For this money you can buy a full-sized device made in Europe.
- Expensive repairs. The device is designed to last for many years, but if a breakdown does occur, repairs are problematic. Spare parts are expensive, and they are supplied from a factory located in Austria. “Euro-washes” are unpopular among Russian consumers, who prefer to do laundry less often and for the whole family at once, so many workshops do not undertake their repair.
- Limited functionality. Many models lack features that consumers are already accustomed to. For example, there are small machines without a timer, display, drying, or high-quality spinning.
- Small load. This is a controversial point. Those who do not wash clothes in large volumes buy a small-sized model - for example, single people or a family of 2 people.
The service life of Eurosoba SMA is at least 15 years. Competitors producing compact models have no more than 6 years.
How does the Soba automatic machine work?
The Swiss company specializes exclusively in small-sized devices that can be placed under the sink or built into furniture. The dimensions of the devices are actually very small, both in depth and width (up to 47 cm) and in height (up to 69 cm). This is a great advantage of the technology in terms of choosing the installation location. It is well suited for small spaces and our “Khrushchev” buildings, where every extra centimeter is worth its weight in gold.
The company even produces special water lily sinks of various designs, which are designed by engineers to be installed above Soba machines.
The range of washing equipment is very limited. There are only 6 models, three of which differ from each other only in the body coating and some additional options. Loading in Eurosoba washing machines is exclusively front-loading.
Nevertheless, technology has a number of positive qualities , which will be discussed further.
- Compactness. We have already talked about this above. Due to the small dimensions of the device, you can save usable space and rationally use the empty space under the sink
- Economical. Since washing machines can hold a maximum of 3 kg of dry laundry, the consumption of water, electricity and detergents is reduced significantly.
- Reliability. With proper use, the device can last 15 years. And these are not loud statements from the manufacturer, but the opinions of the owners. In washing machines of the Swiss brand, not only the drum, but also the tank are made of stainless steel, which significantly extends their service life.
For the manufacture of automatic machines, high-quality components are used, and assembly in most cases is manual.
- Housing coating. The quality of the paint is very high and resistant to scratches and other damage, as confirmed by customer reviews.
- Replaceable panel. The company began producing replacement panels in different colors: blue, red, yellow, silver. Therefore, you can choose equipment to match any furniture set or tiles, or simply update the appearance of the washing machine.
- Design. At first glance, it may seem that the appearance is too simple and boring. Nevertheless, the brand has been awarded many honorary awards from different countries for the ergonomic design of its products.
disadvantages to compact Soba devices.
- Small drum capacity. Equipment with a load of 3 kilograms of dry laundry is definitely not suitable for a large family.
- Functionality. In this regard, the technique is minimally simple. Don't look for drying features or additional options.
- High price. For such a simple set of programs and functions, the product is overpriced. On average, you will have to pay 35,000–55,000 rubles for a machine.
But all the disadvantages of the devices are covered by their high quality and rationality in use. Next, we will look at the Eurosoba models of automatic cars that are popular among buyers.
Summarizing
- The opening side of the hatch should be specified when purchasing - there are options with left and right door opening.
- All parts and components are made of high-quality and durable materials designed for many years of operation. It seems that if it weren't for the plastic handles, there would be nothing to break.
- Many consumers have never even heard of the Eurosoba brand. Those who bought this brand by chance or on recommendation are satisfied with their purchase.
- The tank of all Eurosoba SMAs is made of stainless steel, which means it will last for many years. Stainless steel is durable and can withstand temperature changes without consequences.
- Each of the presented modifications can be built under a sink or countertop. It is better to buy a sink from the manufacturer - its special design is ideal for combination with SMA.
- https://www.sobashop.ru/ - online store and official dealer - information for those who do not know where to buy Swiss SMAs. Warranty and post-warranty service is also provided there.
“EuroDog” is a machine for those who are used to looking at the essence of things. Often, behind the large sizes, “stylish design” and countless functions and options, there are savings on materials and an elementary desire to splurge. Swiss compact washing machines are chosen by those who like to do laundry often and are willing to pay for high-quality equipment.
Which Soba machine model should you choose?
Where to buy an automatic Eurosoba car? Since the Swiss brand is not particularly popular in Russia, not all household appliance stores carry its products. But in online stores you will definitely find the model you are interested in. But you will find out below which models are the most popular according to the owners.

A compact washing machine with simple controls, which is noted by the owners themselves. It is possible to select the water temperature and spin speed. At maximum drum speeds, no excess moisture remains on the laundry, things are almost dry.
The machine is quiet in operation, does not jump and does not emit unnecessary vibrations. The main thing is its correct installation. You can also use rubber stands to reduce vibrations.
But the most important advantage of the washing machine is the ability to place it under the sink. Basically, it is chosen for this purpose.
Users recommend using liquid detergents for washing, since the machine does not rinse out regular powders well. Therefore, you have to do an additional rinse.
There are cases of improper distribution of laundry in the drum, so the machine refuses to spin and you have to fix the problem manually.
Some users are not satisfied with the quality of the wash. Often the device copes with heavy dirt and stains only after preliminary soaking.

Eurosoba: Swiss manufacturer of washing machines
Eurosoba: Swiss manufacturer of washing machinesEurosoba is far from the most popular brand on the washing machine market. In our opinion, this is not entirely fair: a company, no matter how good the units it produces, will always be unknown to the mass consumer, unless it spends crazy amounts on advertising. This increases the price of the products and does not in any way have a positive effect on their quality. And Eurosoba, despite the lack of a large-scale advertising campaign, is a quite successful brand: the devices underneath it, although they do not have extensive loading capabilities, are quite reliable and durable. They also have virtually no problems with design.
This is confirmed by numerous awards from the Eudora company, which produces washing machines under the Eurosoba brand (here is its official Russian-language website). Thus, in 1988, it received two Austrian state awards for the high quality and ergonomic design of its products, and in 1989, another Austrian marketing award, as well as a German design award. The company was awarded various prizes throughout the 1990s. Well, in the 2000s, almost every year the company received a diploma from the Moscow CEM exhibition, which demonstrates to users the latest world achievements in the field of household appliances and electronics.
So where did this Swiss brand come from and “how did it come to life like this”?
History of the Eurosoba brand
In general, the history of many modern European enterprises begins in the coming years after the war, when people had access to resources and the desire to do their own thing. This is what happened with Eudora, the former owner of the brand in question today. The year of foundation of this company is considered to be 1947. It was then that the Austrian Karl Steiniger created his own company producing the first Austrian washing machines. At that time, they received energy from burning wood.
Initially, the enterprise was not particularly successful. However, in the 1950s, thanks to several innovations, Eudora became a leader in its region. So, in 1950, it began producing washing machines with a drum, which was driven using a completely modern electric drive (although these devices, as before, were heated with wood). And in 1956 - a machine that could not only wash, but also spin clothes and at the same time had electric heating. Such a multifunctional device turned out to be in demand, and the Steiniger family soon emerged from the crisis.
...And shortly before that, in 1953, in Switzerland, another European businessman, Otto Schumpf, created the Schumpf company, which also began producing consumer electronics. At first the company was located in the city of Zug, right in the house of its founder, and then, in 1958, moved to Bar.
The first model of a washing machine that meets most modern parameters was created by Karl Steiniger in 1965. It, like the current generation of devices from Eurosoba, had a load of three kilograms, had small dimensions and was fully automatic. A little later, in the early 70s, the Eudora-Goldkind machine appeared, which still remains the smallest automatic washing unit in the world. Well, in 1988, the Singlenova 1000 model was created. Thanks to the design created in the bureau of Ferdinand Porsche himself, it won most of those Austrian and German awards that were mentioned just above.
...Meanwhile, Otto Schumpf's company became closely involved with Kenwood. The Kenwood Schumpf AG concern was organized and long-term contracts were concluded with manufacturers from Germany, England, Austria and Italy. One of these contracts was an agreement that Schumf's company would help with the sales of Eudora washing machines in Switzerland. Subsequently, towards the end of the 1980s, it became the exclusive supplier of such devices to this rich and peaceful country.
In 2003, Soba International Trading AG was founded in Bar on the basis of Otto Schumpf's company. The name "Soba" was formed by combining the first letters of the name of its founder and owner (Schumpf Otto), as well as the city where the company's head office is located (Baar). Now this company was entrusted with the responsibility for supplying Eudora products to Switzerland. And already in 2004, this company bought out the Eudora company from the heirs of Karl Steiniger - as a result, now all products are Austrian.
Due to the large number of distributors and their frequent change in Europe, products from Soba International Trading are sold both under the Soba brand (these are mainly younger models), and under the Babynova or Euronova brands (these devices are no longer produced, but still work in many houses).
In the same 2004, Soba products began to be supplied to Russia and the CIS countries. Responsible for their distribution here. Our brand is known mainly as Eurosoba or simply Soba. The brand entered the market quite late and has not yet conquered a wide consumer base. And, by the way, it is unlikely to win: the segment in which the company prefers to work is very narrow, and new models are introduced extremely rarely. The company itself explains this by the fact that they still come across fully functional devices created back in the 1980s by Eudora. The company is happy to exchange them for new washing machines - which, it is convinced, will last no less. And therefore, from their point of view, there is practically no point in especially expanding and actively looking for new buyers.
Well, we hope this material will help users understand that the products of such small companies deserve the right to life and recognition, and Swiss Soba will be able to get several new customers.
Eurosoba products
Although washing machines are Soba's main product, it produces them in very limited quantities. It is almost impossible to buy them anywhere in Russia, except Moscow and St. Petersburg, and there are only six models that are currently assembled at factories, and three of them are Eurosoba 1100 Sprint, just with different additional functions and different coatings housings.
Accordingly, users are not provided with much variety: all of the company’s models are small in size and have a fairly similar design; all can be loaded with a maximum of three kilograms of laundry. And since Eurosoba washing machines are quite low, the company also produces special sinks under which they can be installed and which best suit the design. There are several options for the “Water Lily” sink (“Light”, “Lux-Light”, “Anthracite”, “Uni”, “Compact”), suitable for different room conditions. By the way, they don’t cost that much: three to nine thousand rubles.
Both sinks and Eurosoba washing machines have unnecessary, purely decorative elements. They cannot be called purely practical. However, this has a positive effect on appearance.
In addition, Soba produces separate shower faucets, sink faucets, steel hoses and various accessories (water softeners, boilers, glass bathroom shelves, soap dishes, cup holders, hooks and towel holders, and so on). All this looks neat and quite durable, but we are not experts in this area and cannot give any advice. We can only note that the Swiss company really likes to use metal in its work and that Eurosoba accessories, even small ones, despite the considerable distance for transportation, are quite cheap. However, they are not produced in Austrian factories - it’s just that Soba International Trading AG is responsible for the distribution of these goods throughout Russia.
As for Eurosoba washing machines, we will look at specific models in the next article, but you can decide whether they are right for you now by looking at the pros and cons of this equipment.
Disadvantages of Eurosoba washing machines
Quite a high price. You won’t find devices cheaper than 18.7 thousand rubles here - but Ardo (review) or Indesit (review) washing machines can offer even higher performance at a lower cost.
Small download. The maximum weight of dry laundry that the drum of these devices can accept is only three kilograms. This will only be enough for a family of two or three people. Well, or a very neat team of five people - but then on the days of general cleaning, the washing machine will work non-stop.
Low functionality. Despite the price, some devices don't even have an LCD display. We’re not even talking about built-in drying and any special modes.
Advantages of Eurosoba washing machines
Small dimensions. The width and depth of the models are 45-46 cm, and the height is generally 68 cm versus the standard 80 cm.
Embeddability. Due to their small stature, Eurosoba washing machines can be built under the sink and into kitchen furniture.
Reliability and durability. According to the company itself, the average lifespan of its products is 15 years. Considering that many Eudora devices have lasted 23 years or even longer without any breakdowns, we are inclined to believe this. Although this, of course, does not eliminate the need to care for devices (see the article “30 practical tips on how to avoid a washing machine breakdown”).
Good quality coating. You can't remove the paint from the body with your fingernail. And the silver polymer coating of Eurosoba 1100 Sprint Plus Inox I is generally one of the most stable, even if you kick it.
Sleek and efficient design. Although I personally don’t like angularity and sharp lines, being a supporter of smoother solutions from the French Brandt or the elegant simplicity of the Swedish Asko, one cannot help but admit that Eurosoba devices have been awarded more than once by the Germans, the Austrians, and us - which means that It still has something in it.
Possibility of choosing arbitrary colors. In 2011, the Swiss manufacturer began producing replacement panels for its washing machines in different colors: red, green, silver, blue, white and yellow. They can be ordered both when purchasing a new device, and to change the appearance of an old one. Installing such a panel through a company specialist costs 1.5 thousand rubles (plus the employee’s travel to your home is paid separately). However, you can change the socket yourself if you wish. As a result, Eurosoba washing machines will suit any kitchen interior and any tile.
As you can see, formally there are more advantages, but note that the disadvantages are much more serious. Typically, such an “inflated” cost with low characteristics means a clear overpayment. And the design, whatever it may be, does not help: Russian users have long known that the main thing is the functionality of the device and the credibility of the brand. According to both indicators, “Eurosoba” is a barefoot.
But we will still take a look at specific devices: the Eurosoba 600, Eurosoba 1000 and Eurosoba 1100 models, as well as some modifications. We can make a final decision on whether it is worth purchasing any appliances of this brand (and if so, which ones) only after a detailed review of Eurosoba washing machines.
Is repair possible?
A big plus is that all Euronovo models can be repaired. At the same time, spare parts for Euronov are available in full and, as a rule, there are no problems with their supply.
Repair of Euronov washing machines can be carried out at home - just call a specialist.
Addresses of companies involved in the repair of Euronova machines are presented on the Internet on the official website. Compared to repairing popular brands, repairing cars of this brand costs several times less. So, the most expensive will be replacing bearings - about 6-8 thousand.
