Review of German brands of washing machines, including those assembled in Germany

Bosch washing machines made in Germany

The global economic crisis is significantly reducing the purchasing power of citizens of all continents. For this reason, many manufacturers of household appliances are trying to reduce their costs.

They are moving production facilities to places where labor is much cheaper. The buyer is discouraged, he begins to lose confidence in well-known brands, since household appliances made in Turkey, China, or Russia do not always satisfy him with their quality. For example, buying a Bosch washing machine made in Germany is no longer quite easy.

Meanwhile, this particular brand has earned particular popularity. However, many buyers are willing to pay money only for German assembly, since they are well aware that automatic machines of this brand are distinguished by their durability, reliability and high quality.

Rating options

The rating of the best washing machine manufacturers was compiled based on customer reviews and data on the frequency of malfunctions. You need to select the ten most worthy ones according to the following parameters:

  • number of breakdowns during operation;
  • quality, reliability;
  • consumer opinion;
  • characteristics, number of additional useful functions;
  • price.

The last point is usually the most important when choosing a washing machine. You also need to calculate the ratio of the price of the model and the quality of such a washing machine. Of course, if everyone had enough money, they would buy premium cars. But many people only have access to an inexpensive option, which is why study all the options and reviews.

Each company, regardless of the price of the product, has its own buyer. You cannot make a ranking based on the number of sales. Of course, inexpensive cars are bought much more often, but this does not mean their quality. Therefore, the most important criterion is the number of breakdowns and malfunctions during the first three years of operation.

Miele - top class

Miele washing machine

Miele washing machine

The Miele company was founded more than a hundred years ago by two German families - Miele and Zinkann, and since then has continuously produced premium washing machines. Almost 20 thousand people from Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic are engaged in the production of devices, and washing machines are sold in 40 countries around the world. The level of assembly of devices practically does not depend on the place of production.

Where to buy a real German washing machine

You can find a large number of reviews about Bosch washing machines on the Internet.

Most often, owners write about high-quality laundry, the ability to dry and iron it, which is especially important if they have a large family, or are overly busy at work. Many owners note that the fairly high cost of these devices is completely justified, since in return they receive a unit that works efficiently and without failure

If you decide to purchase a new washing machine, we recommend choosing a German Bosch machine. This complex household appliance, which performs the lion's share of household work, deserves all respect. You can use it in the most intensive mode, washing large amounts of linen and other household textiles every day. Bosch machines are made of such high quality that they can serve you faithfully for decades without needing any repairs.

When choosing a car, it is important not to make a mistake - it will be much better if you get an original device assembled by German engineers

Tool color

The Germans were among the first to introduce a public division between professional and home instruments. Previously, and even now, most manufacturers distinguished household tools into a separate brand or identified some lines with less reliability and power.

Regarding Bosch power tools, separation in design has become a standard - and more often you can hear “green” instead of “home” and “blue” instead of professional, and not only from this manufacturer. Actually, the marking features begin with the color designation. By the way, there are more than two of them:

  • P - home or personal instrument, from the German persönlich, promoted under the thesis DIY - Do It Yourself, home crafts;
  • G – commercial or professional, from the German großtechnisch, “on an industrial scale”;
  • A - garden accessories (including chainsaws), by the way, also distinguished by the color of the plastic body - light green;
  • B and D - measuring instruments and accessories.

Assembly of washing machines in other countries

Often the decisive role when choosing a particular washing machine model is played by the country of its assembly.

In the case of Indesit brand products, this is not so important, since the manufacturer gives the same guarantee for its products, regardless of the country in which the final assembly takes place

Manufacturers strive in every possible way to reduce the cost of their products and therefore are constantly looking for ways that can help them with this. Thus, a component of the cost is the payment of labor to employees at plants and factories. The cheaper the labor force used in an enterprise, the correspondingly lower the cost of manufactured goods. For this sole reason, well-known global trade brands are trying to locate their enterprises for the production of household appliances in different countries. Read here: how to test a washing machine.

Another common misconception among consumers is that many believe that each brand requires its own production facilities. In reality, everything is not so and often the same enterprise produces both premium goods and economy options. This phenomenon is most common in Chinese enterprises, where Indesit, Bosch, Ariston or Samsung washing machines are assembled literally in neighboring workshops.

Indesit washing machines are assembled at 16 plants and factories in Russia, England, Turkey, Italy, Poland and some other countries. Moreover, eight of them are located in Italy. The domestic plant for the production of Indesit units is located in the city of Lipetsk and produces both Indesit and Hotpoint-Ariston refrigerators and washing machines. It is easy to distinguish a device made in Lipetsk - at the end of its index there is always the letter “L”. For example, the Indesit PWSE 6127 S (CIS).L model is made in Lipetsk.

SMA Siemens German assembly

Washing machine Siemens

The first Siemens brand washing machines were released back in the 1920s. In 1967, the company, together with BOSCH, launched mass production of automatic washing machines.

During this time, Siemens household appliance factories were located in 41 countries, including Russia. In the Russian Federation, for example, the following models of washing machines are manufactured and assembled on an ongoing basis: WS 12G24S, WS 12G240, WS 10G240, WS 12G140 and WS 10G140.

Countries in which Bosch washing machines are assembled

Some Bosch washing machines have an index that means the following:

  • OE – denotes one of the former CIS countries: Russia, Ukraine or Belarus.
  • EE - Spain.
  • BY – Eastern Europe.
  • GB - England.
  • EU – either Eastern or Western Europe.

Are you unplugging your washing machine?

Oh yes! No

In another embodiment, the country of assembly is determined by a three-digit letter code. Examples:

  • WAS, WLX – Germany.
  • WAE – Türkiye or Poland. The exception is the model marked WAE28441, which is also German.
  • WLF - often Germany, and if the number code ends in 4 or 5 - China.
  • WAA - Türkiye.
  • WOT - France.
  • WOR - Poland. Legacy WFX - also Poland.
  • WLM - China.

Ask a Question

Important! The three-digit letter code is usually placed at the end of the machine marking and should not be separated by spaces. That is, if, for example, the designation is “W AE 24460 OE”, then W AE does not mean that the machine is from Turkey, there is a different decoding, discussed in more detail in one of the sections below (more details for this example: W - washing machine in general, A - front-loading and E - capable of being fully integrated into furniture)

What do the letters in the name of Samsung washing machines mean?

The symbols indicate the color of the housing and loading hatch. So WQ means that the body color is white and the doors are chrome. The letters SD indicate that the body of the washing machine is gray and the hatch door is chrome.

Consumer reviews of German models

In general, it’s not a bad machine. Those who say that it jumps during the spin cycle apparently simply forgot to unscrew the shipping fasteners that hold the drum when transporting the washing machine. You just need to read the instruction manual. I forgot to do this myself and was pleasantly surprised that after removing them the machine started working differently.

Bosch WLG 20261 OEAnton

The first wash turned out to be a harsh test for the machine. They washed the duvet cover. A sheet was added to help with balancing. During washing, the sheet got into the duvet cover. As a result, the machine had to squeeze out the lump. She dealt with it - the vibration was minimal. Everything remained in its place on the cover of the machine. Summary: an excellent device without unnecessary useless bells and whistles like steam (IMHO in washing machines this is a scam, steam is familiar with thermodynamics :)

Siemens WS 12T540Victoria

The washing is excellent, the machine is noisy, but if you go into the bathroom with a closed animal, then it’s fine. Service and further maintenance leave much to be desired. I hope your use of this washing machine will be more positive.

Miele WTF 130 WPM Aigul

My wife is very pleased with the purchase, before this she never wanted to change her old machine (it had recently become very noisy), she said that it washed and spun perfectly, and they say they don’t do that now. But she seems to have changed her mind
