Persil liquid powder is used in the machine and when washed by hand. Depending on the variety, apply the gel to colored, light-colored synthetic and cotton items. Manufacturers do not produce separate gels for wool and silk. According to the instructions, the liquid is poured into the second compartment of the machine instead of powder, placed in a drum or dissolved in warm water when washing by hand. The line contains universal powders: Persil Professional Universal, Persil Red Ribbon, Persil Premium, Persil Business Line, as well as a product for white linen - Persil Expert, colored - Persil Color, and children's clothing - Persil Sensitive.
Persil Gel or “Persil Gel” for washing is available in large bottles with a dispenser cap. The concentrate contains a stain remover and bleach, so it removes even stubborn stains and refreshes your laundry. However, the product has a number of disadvantages and is not suitable for delicate materials. Let's figure out what the gel is suitable for, how to use it, what varieties the manufacturer offers.
Main characteristics
The washing powder was developed by the German company Henkel. At first, loose powders were produced, later gels began to be produced. Since 2000, Persil has been produced in Russia.
Liquid laundry detergent
"Persil gel" is a liquid washing powder for washing by hand or in a machine. This is a concentrated liquid, due to which the consumption for a full load is minimal.
The gel is available in bottles ranging from 1.2 to 5.6 liters. The bottles are equipped with a dispenser cap of a convenient design: the remaining gel is poured into the bottle without remaining on the neck of the bottle.
The composition is positioned as safe and hypoallergenic, as it does not contain phosphates. However, the liquid contains other detergents that can cause allergies:
- APAS (5–15%);
- Non-ionic surfactants (5–15%);
- phosphonates (<5%);
- soap;
- enzymes;
- preservatives;
- stain remover;
- optical brightener;
- fragrance
Note . Not all types of liquid Persil contain stain remover, bleach, or phosphonates. Read the label carefully.
Efficiency
The effectiveness of washing powder is a somewhat ephemeral category, since it depends on many factors that are difficult to control in everyday conditions. For example, the temperature, hardness and volume of water, the duration of washing, the degree of contamination of items and the properties of the fabric from which these items are sewn, the amount of powder, and the mechanical impact of the washing machine are all important. Therefore, if you wash with powder at home, its effectiveness will be different each time - and this is not the manufacturer’s fault.
In laboratory tests, samples of standard contaminants produced in Switzerland and Germany are used, as well as washing machines equipped with special measuring equipment.
When testing the effectiveness of Ariel, Persil and Tide powders, the following results were obtained:
Pollution | "Ariel" | "Persil" | "Tide" |
Coffee | + | + | |
Red wine | ++ | +++ | + |
Chocolate | — | +++ | — |
Meat dish with soy sauce | — | + | |
Fresh herbs | ++ | +++ | + |
Cherry | + | — | |
Long lasting lipstick | — | + |
Explanation of values from the table:
“0”—the powder did not remove the dirt;
“-” - the result is little noticeable;
“+” - the result is unsatisfactory;
“++” - the dirt has been washed off quite well;
“+++” - not a trace of contamination remains.
Advantages
Persil gel has predominantly positive reviews. Users note the following advantages:
The product is quite effective and copes even with stubborn stains.
- removes even difficult stains;
- refreshes fabrics;
- does not dry the skin;
- Suitable for automatic and manual use;
- has economical consumption;
- easy to rinse.
Flaws
Along with its advantages, the detergent has disadvantages:
- high price;
- persistent odor that remains on clothes for a long time;
- abundant foam.
The gel has a rather strong smell
Judging by the reviews, for some users the smell is not a drawback.
Features of application
The bottle of any type of Persil washing gel contains instructions for use. The manufacturer suggests the following dosage, depending on the hardness of the water and the intensity of contamination:
- 68-73 ml – light contamination in soft water;
- 93 ml – simple stains in hard water;
- 155 ml – heavy soiling in soft water;
- 175 ml – stubborn stains in hard water.
Read the instructions carefully before use
The cap has notches with volume indications. The liquid is poured into the dry powder compartment of the machine. After this, the required program with rinsing and spinning is set. No additional rinsing required.
It is recommended to pre-wash difficult stains. Pour the liquid onto the dirty area, rub it and send it to wash. The gel is completely rinsed out of fabrics and does not leave stains, so you don’t have to worry about the negative impact of the liquid directly on the material.
Some types of gel have an additional measuring container for use in the machine. The calculation of the quantity remains the same, but in this case the container filled with liquid is placed in the drum along with dirty things.
To wash by hand, dilute 48 ml of liquid powder in 10 liters of warm water.

Safety
This is the main criterion for evaluating all household chemicals. Despite the fact that washing powder is considered relatively safe, it can still cause attacks of bronchial asthma, cause allergies and dermatitis. Moreover, such a reaction can be caused by any of its components, and it is almost impossible to predict it. People who are prone to these diseases should choose phosphate-free powders of organic origin with natural fragrances, or even without them. Unfortunately, none of the listed brands offers such products to customers.
For other consumers, Ariel, Persil, and Tide will be fairly safe if the rules are followed. The powder should not be inhaled (that is, you should not sniff the open package), nor should it be used to wash food, body or dishes. It is important to limit children's access to laundry detergents.
One way to determine how harmful a particular laundry detergent is is to measure the amount of anionic and nonionic surfactants that remain in the water after washing clothes and rinsing them three times. The results of examinations carried out in 2015 by the Testing Laboratory commissioned by the online publication Roskontrol were as follows:
- Ariel “Mountain Spring” was the worst among all tested samples, since the water contained 568 mg/l of anionic surfactants (the most dangerous to humans). Experts note that when using this powder, repeated rinsing should be used.
- Persil Expert can be called one of the best - the surfactant content in water turned out to be minimal.
- Tide "White Clouds" is also quite good, its performance is in line with the average values.

By the way, on the packaging of all three samples there is a designation “suitable for washing children’s and adult clothes.” This needs to be emphasized, since according to the results of the same examinations, powders with a norm of 70–120% received the following toxicity levels:
- "Ariel" - 33%;
- "Persil" - 48%;
- Tide - 52%.
The lower the percentage, the more toxic the laundry detergent, and Ariel was the worst again this time. However, all three powders failed this test - despite the manufacturers’ assurances, it is not recommended to use them for washing children’s clothes.
