A detailed analysis of the operating modes of the LG automatic washing machine

The LG washing machine is a piece of equipment with high functionality. Its main task comes down to high-quality processing of things.

To do this, the manufacturer has built into it many modes, each of which is designed for a specific type of fabric. Their wise choice will allow you to achieve an impeccable result.

Read the article about what modes exist on an LG washing machine and how to use them.

Which ones are there?

It is not difficult to understand what modes are provided in the LG washing machine - just look at the front panel . On it you can see the controller handle, around which there are a list of inscriptions: “silk”, “cotton”, wool”, etc.

If the device is equipped with a touch display, then they will be listed on the display. It is enough to turn on the device to the network, select the desired program and start it up.

Cotton

This is the optimal mode for those cases when you need to wash items made of thick fabric . The drum will rotate quickly, due to which the products will be completely cleaned of contaminants.

The default water temperature is 90 degrees. Spin is set to 800 rpm. Cycle duration – 1:30 – 2:00.

Cotton is one of the universal programs, which is often used for washing items made from unpretentious fabrics. At your discretion, the water temperature and drum rotation speed can be adjusted.

Cotton Eco

Cotton Eco is a variation of the Cotton option. It is used to process items made of thick fabric, but with minor dirt.

The default settings are as follows:

  • spin 800 rpm;
  • water temperature 40 or 60 degrees (depending on the model of the washing machine);
  • Cycle duration is about 2:17 minutes.

When washing clothes in cold water, the operating time is reduced to 1:43.

Everyday wash

This program is suitable for caring for items made from ordinary fabrics that do not require delicate handling. These include: nylon, acrylic, polyamide, etc.

Regardless of the model, the default temperature is always set to 40 degrees. The spin speed is 600 or 800 rpm. In this mode, spinning at 1000-1200 rpm is not available.

Approximate washing time is 1:50 minutes . When processing products in cold water, it is reduced to 1:18 minutes.

Baby clothes

The Baby Clothes program is designed for children's clothes. It has the following features:

  1. Water temperature is 95 degrees. This allows you to destroy all bacteria and microbes that settle on the fabric. The minimum values that can be set are 60 degrees.

  2. By default, the Prewash function is enabled.
  3. The spin can be set at 400, 600 or 800 rpm (depending on the model).
  4. Extended rinse cycle, during which the powder is thoroughly washed out of the fabric fibers. To do this, the Super Rinse function is turned on.

The cycle lasts about 2 hours 30 minutes.

Mixed fabrics

The "Mixed fabrics" option is designed for washing dark clothes . It involves careful handling of things, thereby maintaining durability and color saturation.

The maximum water temperature allowed for this program is 40 degrees. This is the default setting. Drum rotation speed 600 or 800 rpm.

The operating time of the device on the “Mixed fabrics” program is 1:20 minutes. If you process things in cold water, it is reduced to 60 minutes.

Duvet

The program is designed for washing large items with various fillings. Despite this name, pillows, bedspreads, sofa coverings and more can be processed in this mode.

Settings:

  • water - 40 degrees;
  • Pre-wash and super-rinse cannot be turned on;
  • spin at 400 or 800 rpm.

The program lasts 90-100 minutes, depending on the selected settings.

Sports items

The sportswear program is suitable for caring for items after a workout. It is convenient to use when you need quick but high-quality processing of things.

Features of the mode:

  1. Water - 40 degrees. This value can only be lowered.
  2. Spin – 600 or 800 rpm.
  3. The cycle lasts 46-50 minutes.

This program can be used to clean membrane fabric.

Delicate

Delicate washing involves gentle processing of items . This mode is used to care for silk items, tulle and other delicate fabrics. The default water temperature is 30 degrees. It can be increased to 40 degrees (this is the maximum mark).

The washing duration does not exceed 55 minutes. In cold water it is reduced to 47 minutes.

Wool

Although the mode is called “Wool”, it can be used, among other things, for caring for knitwear . This is the optimal program for processing items marked “hand wash”.

The drum rotates slowly, the water temperature is 40 degrees. Spin speed 600 or 800 rpm. Washing lasts no more than 38 minutes, and a minimum of half an hour.

You can load cashmere, knitwear and other delicate fabrics into the drum.

Fast 30

This program is ideal for quickly refreshing items that are not very dirty, but will not be able to deal with serious stains.

Default settings:

  • water temperature – 30 degrees;
  • spin speed – 600 or 800 rpm;
  • duration - half an hour at a temperature of 30 degrees and 38 minutes at a temperature of 40 degrees.

Intensive 60

The Intensive 60 program is necessary for quickly washing moderately soiled items. In this case, the machine consumes a small amount of electricity. This mode is suitable for mixed fabrics and cotton items.

Default settings:

  1. Water temperature – 60 degrees.
  2. Spin – 600 and 800 rpm.
  3. The cycle duration at any temperature is 1 hour.

Rinse + spin and spin without rinsing

These two modes do not involve washing things and do not require pouring powder into the tray. The water will always be cold. The rinse + spin program lasts 18 minutes, and the spin without rinse lasts 13 minutes. The spin speed can be 800 or 1000 rpm.

Complex “sports” algorithm

High-quality sportswear today is made from innovative materials. Such things are ideal for training - they do not hinder movements, allow the skin to breathe, and do not interfere with sweating. High-tech fabrics are quite vulnerable, so it is important to study the information on the label - it contains the manufacturer's recommendations for caring for the product.

In most cases, manufacturers allow automatic washing of products, but in a special “Sportswear” mode.

When the mode starts, the water in the tank warms up to a temperature of 30°C. The rotation rate of the drum is low; it often stops altogether, simulating soaking. Spin is provided, but is performed at minimum speed - up to 600 rpm. The default duration of the algorithm is 1 hour 10 minutes, but the time can be adjusted by changing the mode settings.

Sportswear mode settings

The duration of the program may vary on different models of LG washing machines. If you need accurate data, check the instructions for the equipment. There is a detailed description of all washing modes.

Timer

The timer mode is designed to start washing later, and not when the machine is turned on. The operation can be delayed by 3-9 hours, in some models this time period is increased to 19 hours.

Using this function is very convenient, since the device will begin executing the specified program at the specified time. Procedure:

  • place dirty laundry in the drum;
  • add powder to the tray;
  • choose a suitable program;
  • turn on the timer for the time when washing should start.

Stages

The “Wool” program includes the following stages:

  1. Clean water flows into the tank.
  2. After a few minutes, water with a detergent dissolved in it is poured into it.
  3. Scroll the items slowly to distribute the detergent evenly.
  4. The movement slows down. From time to time the drum turns 1-2 turns. Washing goes as smoothly as possible. Most of the time the products just sit in soapy water.
  5. After 20-25 minutes the drain occurs.
  6. Several rinse cycles are started.
  7. The water is drained, and conditioner or balm, if it was poured into the compartment, enters the machine.
  8. The final stage is the final spin, if it was specified in the settings.

Test

A service test in LG machines is special actions that the device performs independently to check whether the main elements are functioning correctly. The owner of the household appliance can run the test at the moment when he needs it. The mode will help you quickly detect a breakdown and carry out repairs.

To start it, you need to turn on the device, remove the laundry from it and close the hatch. Then simultaneously press and hold the spin, power and temperature keys, after which the device is put into operation.

To check the functioning of all nodes, press the “Start” button 10 times in succession.

“Synthetics” parameters on Siemens machines

On washing machines from Siemens, a special mode for cleaning synthetic fabrics is rare. The manufacturer invites the user to independently set the settings for each cycle, which is not entirely convenient for daily use. For those who have a lot of nylon and polyester clothing, it is better to learn the recommended parameters or consider a machine from another brand.

So, cleansing in the “Synthetic” mode goes like this:

  • temperature range – 30-60 degrees (varied by the user within the specified limits);
  • one-time auto-rinse (if necessary, a repeat cycle is activated);
  • spin can be set at any level, from maximum to deactivation);
  • The duration of the cycle depends on the parameters set, but does not exceed 105 minutes.

    Synthetics program at Siemens

For high-quality washing at Siemens, it is better to load no more than 2.5 kg of artificial fabrics into the drum. Intensive drying is not supported when choosing “Synthetics”. On some of the manufacturer’s machines, instead of a special mode, there is another one - “Mixed laundry”.

Features of choice for different things

What mode should I use to wash tulle, jackets, jeans, bed linen? To prevent things from being damaged during the washing process, you need to select the right mode:

  1. Tulle is processed in the Delicate wash mode.

  2. Jeans are washed on the Mixed fabrics program.
  3. Bed linen is processed by turning on the Cotton option.
  4. Jackets are washed on the Duvet program.
  5. Diapers and rompers are cleaned in the Baby Clothes mode.
  6. For blouses, the Delicate wash option is suitable.
  7. Shirts and pajamas are washed on the Cotton or Cotton Eco program.

This article will tell you which mode to wash a down jacket in an LG washing machine.

What is it needed for?

This mode is suitable for washing items made from any wool. You can find out what material the item is made from using the information on the label.

The “Wool” program can be used to wash items with the following symbols:

  • Wolle (pure wool);

  • New wool, schurwoll, virgin wool, lana vergin (wool mixed with other fibers, but not more than 7%);
  • Lambwool;
  • Merinowalle;
  • Camello, camel, kamel, alpaca (camel hair);
  • Kashmir, Cashemire (cashmere);
  • Mohair (mohair - wool of Angora goats) and more.

The gentle treatment of fabric also allows you to use this mode to care for items made from other materials that require careful handling. It is used when washing light and medium soiled items. If the stains are complex, it is better to treat them in advance, for example, use a stain remover.

Helpful information

Tips that will be useful to all owners of an LG washing machine:

  1. To reduce the washing time in any mode, you need to reduce the water temperature and spin speed.
  2. To wash sports shoes, it is recommended to use the “Quick 30” program. The “Sportswear” option is not suitable for this purpose, as it involves keeping the sneakers in the water for too long, which can be detrimental to them.
  3. The timer can be turned on not only for modes, but also for certain stages, for example, spinning, draining or rinsing.

LG washing machine control panel

Most LG models are produced in Russia, which is why the control panels are completely in Russian and are very simple. There are practically no icons or symbols next to the rotary selector, buttons and on the display; everything is signed with words.
