  • lean the tester probes against the terminals of the heating element;
  • evaluate the value that appears on the device display. The working heating element will produce a resistance in the range of 26-28 Ohms. A one on the screen indicates a break inside the device, a zero indicates a short circuit of the heater.

If the multimeter display shows “1” or “0”, you will have to change the heating element. In this case, the tubular heater cannot be repaired.

If the resistance values ​​coincide with the norm, the heater is checked for breakdown. The tester should be switched to buzzer mode. Next, the probe of the device is applied to the heating element. If the multimeter beeps, replacing the element cannot be avoided.

To change the heating element, you need to remove the faulty device from the “socket”. Sometimes the task can be made difficult by a dried out heater gasket. To extract an element, you must:

  • treat the rubber seal with WD-40 lubricant;
  • wait 15-20 minutes;
  • disconnect the thermostat;
