Refrigerator Bauknecht KGN 5887 stainless steel

General characteristics of Bauknecht washing machines.
Bauknecht washing machines are very popular in European countries. Washing machines from this manufacturer appeared on the Russian market not so long ago. The production and assembly of the machines takes place in Germany. The machines are famous for their high quality and ease of operation. The price of these cars can hardly be called low, but for such quality it cannot be called overpriced either. To learn more about Bauknecht washing machines, we suggest you read consumer reviews of various models of this brand.

1920s

Company creation

In 1919, 27-year-old Gottlob Bauknecht created the first electrical workshop. This is where the history of the brand, which has no analogues in the world, began. However, the initial investment was only 500 marks. Gottlob Bauknecht's goal is to use electric motors to make people's daily lives easier.

The first engine was created by the company founder himself

In the twenties, Gottlob Bauknecht developed his first electric motor for weaving machines used in the textile industry.

1930s

New development: Landfreund Motor

In 1932, a standard electric motor was put into production and has successfully stood the test of time. This fact contributed to the formation of the company's reputation as an innovative manufacturer.

First factories

The first plant (Heidenkling) was built in the south of Stuttgart in 1933. By that time, the company had reached industrial production volumes, and the number of employees exceeded one hundred people. A second plant was opened near the village of Klingenmühle in 1935, and a third in Welzheim in 1938.

1940s

Development of the company

In 1947, the number of employees in the company was approaching a thousand. With the successful launch of a new product – the KMW compact meat grinder – the creation of a new division was announced.

Allfix food processor

In 1948, Bauknecht introduced the first Allfix food processor for home use on the domestic market. The device with a built-in electric motor simplified many of the tasks that women faced when cooking.

1950s

Who should I call about repairs?

In 1951, a mobile repair service was established that operated throughout the country and provided the highest level of support.

Home product line

In the fifties, Bauknecht released a line of high-quality household appliances: the first refrigerator (1951), the first freezer (1954), the first activator-type automatic washing machine (1955). In 1958, production of the first washing machines and dishwashers began at the new factory in Schorndorf.

"Bauknecht knows...

...what women need!” This legendary advertising slogan, which has become one of the most famous phrases in Germany (its recognition has reached 96%), was created by Walter Rübsam back in 1954. The modern slogan of the brand is: “Live today.”

Reviews of Bauknecht washing machines

Bauknecht washing machines are quite famous in Europe and little known in Russia, so our people show genuine interest in this technology. The history of this brand goes back to the beginning of the twentieth century in Germany. Today, 53% of the plant's shares belong to Whirlpool, which means the brand is known all over the world. What do users who own washing machines of this brand say? Let’s turn to the reviews.

WCMC 64523

To be honest, you can immediately see that the car is German and of good quality. It washes and spins very well. But there is a drawback: slight vibration at medium speeds. The master said in this regard that this is not a defect. In fact, this is so, because vibration does not cause the washing machine to jump or move.

I was washing my sports uniform and decided to set the spin speed to 1200 rpm. So the jar of water standing on the machine did not move, which means everything is fine. Some people in reviews of this technology write that it is very quiet, I can’t say that. The machine makes a decent noise during draining and spinning, the noise is within normal limits, if compared with Ariston, it is not quieter.

An excellent machine from the German brand Bauknecht, it washes at 5 plus. And, very importantly, a 3-year warranty! I didn't find any shortcomings. I advise everyone, if you pay for a brand, then only for this one.

If my memory serves me correctly, I bought a washing machine from this company, model WCMC 64523, in 1997. It still works, no repairs have been made. Believe it or not. But the only thing that happened to it was that the casing rusted on one side, and all because the unit was in the bathroom. It doesn't look pretty, but it works. If necessary, I will exchange it for a new one of the same brand, although the price is high, but the quality is superb.

The washing machine from this brand is good, and therefore I decided to write a review. It's only been 4 months since I bought it, but I love everything about it. Works quietly. I compare it with an LG machine that a friend has. I also wanted one, but I still chose the German one and was right. LG sometimes starts jumping due to vibration, my car doesn’t do this, although it depends on how it was installed.

What also makes me happy about my home assistant is the full three-year warranty. Which is extremely rare. The only downside I would note is the high price, but if your budget allows, take it, you won’t regret it. Delicate wash is just super!

WAT 820

lidia33-33, Moscow

Since today is a day off I decided to write a review about my favorite washing machine from a German brand. A top-loading machine in the mid-price category. Why exactly like this? Because after renovating the bathroom, I wanted to install a new machine, but there was only enough space for a vertical one. The car was chosen only from Germany, the seller recommended this particular car. It has a 3-year warranty, and the engine has a 10-year warranty. In general, there were no doubts when purchasing.

What else attracted me was the excellent white design and bright LED display. After almost two years of use, I note the following advantages:

  • convenient loading and smooth opening of the drum and machine door;
  • many different programs for washing different types of laundry;
  • automatic selection of program parameters that can be changed manually;
  • additional rinse functions, child lock, delayed start;
  • the water and energy savings claimed by the manufacturer work;
  • washes and spins perfectly.

There is a downside - there is no separate spin function.

The machine also has a new technology called Zen. The essence of technology is a delicate attitude towards things. Thanks to the new asynchronous motor, the car is practically inaudible. In general, ideal care for things at minimal cost. But I have my own opinion on this matter, the car is noisy at high speeds, but when compared with other cars, it is no louder or quieter than some competitors.

If you look closely, there are many more pros than cons. Therefore, I advise everyone to have a good shopping experience. I’ll write about the durability and reliability of the car in 10 years, depending on your luck!

WCMC 71400

viola1987, St. Petersburg

My husband chooses equipment very responsibly. When buying a washing machine, he read a lot of reviews about each model he liked. In the store I looked at each model, opening the drum door, asking the sellers, looking for the best model. We needed a small washing machine, from a European manufacturer and quiet in operation. Based on these requirements, the sales consultant suggested a Slovenian-assembled machine, model WCMC 71400, without thinking twice we bought it.

After three months of use, we were delighted and happy with the purchase. The spin speed of 1400 rpm is quiet. It is possible to set the degree of soiling of the laundry, from which the machine independently determines how much water is needed for washing.

With this machine we began to save about 300 rubles a month on electricity. True, we have different tariffs for night and day electricity. Therefore, we wash after 23 hours. In short, the car is great!

WAK 7751

I have been using this brand of washing machine for more than 2 years. During the work, it never broke down and met all expectations, and therefore only positive impressions were formed.

  • Firstly, the car was assembled in Germany, and this costs a lot.
  • Secondly, with a load of 6 kg, the machine is very compact and fits into a small bathroom.
  • Thirdly, it works quietly and does not bother you; even with a strong spin, there is little vibration.

It is also worth noting the simple controls and clear menu. This machine is not capricious in using powders; you can use gels. Things wash very well, it is simply irreplaceable. The metal-plastic body is easy to wipe clean and maintenance is not difficult. In general, I recommend Baukneht to everyone.

WAK 7375

I have been using a WAK 7375 washing machine, assembled in Germany, since 2001. This model has a load of 5 kg and 1000 spin speeds. Sufficient number of programs. I really like this machine, the quality is obvious. For so many years of operation I have never called a repairman, this says something. I hope that she will please me for a long time.

To summarize, reviews of washing machines of this German brand are positive. We have not encountered any negative user feedback. Maybe because the technology is not widespread enough on the Russian market, maybe it is expensive for the mass consumer. It's difficult to say more precisely. In general, happy shopping!

They advised me to buy it at the Media Markt store, but they only sell it there (Bauknecht washing machine). To be honest, I think I overpaid for it. You could have gotten another one for less money. And it would work the same way as someone already wrote. She is very noisy. I expected better and quieter performance from it.

I bought a Bauknecht Super Eco 6412 machine. Lots of programs. It washes beautifully, quietly. But I think it’s a big disadvantage that the spin speed is only 1400, 1000, 400 rpm. At 1400 and 1000 it is impossible to push up because of the “roar of a jet plane”, and at 400 the effect is very weak. I had to break up with her. And I really liked her.

I don't like it at all. It doesn't wash well, it wrings out so loudly.

I also bought it at Media Markt, they promised quality. But in 2 years I’ve already repaired it 2 times! Either the heater broke, or something happened to the drum. Very noisy! I am extremely unhappy with this company.

Where can I get the operating instructions? I can't figure out the programs.

1960s

Cookers and ovens

In 1965, the company introduced the first models of electric ranges and ovens with additional functions.

Energy efficient refrigerators

Beginning in 1965, the company's refrigerator cases were filled with foam, which increased their airtightness and thus saved energy. Even then it was of great importance.

New generation of freezers

In 1966, the company introduced an improved freezer model that allowed food to be preserved longer. At that time this was an innovation.

Hoods

The 50th anniversary of the company was marked by the beginning of the production of hoods, thanks to which the air quality in the kitchen was significantly improved.

Deluxe washing machine

Another innovation of the company was the Deluxe washing machine, introduced in the year of its 50th anniversary, which ensured absolute cleanliness of laundry at 100 degrees.

1970s

Economical

Over ten years, the company's household appliances have become significantly more economical to operate. In 1972, washing machines consumed “only” 150 liters of water and 3.6 kW of electricity. By 1978, these figures had dropped to 49 liters of water and 2.6 kW of electricity. New technology also made it possible to save time: in 1974, a line of dryers was launched to help quickly dry clothes after washing.

microwaves

In the seventies, Bauknecht became one of the pioneer developers of microwave ovens. Thus, in 1973, an oven with a built-in microwave was introduced, and in 1977, the first microwave oven was introduced.

Patented dishwashing technologies

In the early seventies, the company pioneered the use of patented diagonal spray nozzles in dishwashers. Three spray levels made it possible to use the internal space of the device much more efficiently.

More flexibility

In the company's refrigerators, the shelves can be rotated and swapped, allowing the consumer to use the interior space as they wish.

Reviews about the model WCMC 64523

This model is considered a compact, automatic washing machine. In size it has dimensions of 60x85x45 centimeters. The maximum load does not exceed 5 kilograms, with a consumption of 45 liters of water per wash. Washing quality is rated A+. Consumes a large amount of electricity.

Analyzing the reviews, you can see that the same shortcomings can be traced. Firstly, many people note the noise of the machine. When washing, increased vibrations are created, which have a destructive effect on surrounding objects. Secondly, some people thought the price was too high.

However, given these shortcomings, users are satisfied with the quality of washing items and the machine as a whole. Among the positive qualities of the machine, consumers highlight the durability of the product, quality of washing and ease of operation.

1980s

Cooking food

Different cooking methods have their advantages. That is why, in 1981, an oven appeared on the market in which the heating from below, above or from the sides could be switched on separately or in combination with a grill. The large size of the oven made it possible to implement additional microwave functions.

Restructuring

In 1982, the family-owned company was restructured - Bauknecht Hausgeräte GmbH became part of the Philips group.

Say no to defrosting

Today this technology is known as No Frost, but already in 1984 Bauknecht refrigerators and freezers did not require defrosting thanks to their air circulation technology.

Dishwashers are superior to hand washing in every way

By 1986, Bauknecht dishwashers had reduced the amount of water and energy used to the level required for manual washing.

Environment protection

Thanks to fully automatic washing machines with an ecological cycle, the amount of detergent used has been reduced by 30%, while maintaining excellent washing results. Thus, consumer costs and negative impact on the environment have been reduced.

Bauknecht goes international

In 1989, Whirlpool and Philips formed a joint venture. From this moment on, 53% of the shares of Bauknecht, which by that time employed 2,400 people in two factories in Schorndorf and Neukirchen, belonged to the American company Whirlpool, one of the world leaders in the production of household appliances. This is how the brand entered the international arena.

Double-chamber refrigerators Bauknecht

Double-chamber refrigerators Bauknecht

In the first part of the review, we looked at freezers and chests of the Bauknecht brand, and the second material was devoted to free-standing and built-in single-chamber refrigerators. Today we will talk about two-chamber refrigerators of the same brand, among which you will not find compact devices with a small internal volume. This type of refrigeration equipment is designed to store a large amount of food and will do its job perfectly in a family of three to four people.

Built-in refrigerators

Product dimensions Bauknecht KGIE 2085 A2+ (height, width, depth) - 177x56x55 cm. Energy consumption class - A++, average annual electricity consumption is 235 kWh. Noise level - 35 dB.

This model belongs to the Bottom Mount family, in which the freezer compartment is located at the bottom. Personally, I think this configuration is optimal - as a rule, people don’t look into the freezer often, so you’ll have to bend over less often. Apparently, the employees of the German company agree with me - the range of two-chamber refrigerators contains exclusively representatives of this type.

The useful volume of the upper compartment is 195 liters. In its lower part there is a traditional container for vegetables and fruits, above which there are five shelves, four of which can be rearranged. There are three trays on the door, one of which is equipped with a hinged lid. There is nothing new or extraordinary here - we have a standard compartment for short-term food storage.

The refrigerator has a drip defrosting system, which will take the worry of caring for its “insides” off the owner’s shoulders. The ice crust will melt on its own, the water will flow out of the chamber and turn into steam, and the user’s responsibilities will only include removing small dirt from the walls and food residues from the shelves.

If you bring a large amount of fresh food or bottled drinks from the store and place them in the refrigerator, they can significantly raise the temperature inside, which will negatively affect the food stored there. To avoid such troubles, you should use the “Super Cooling” function, which will lower the temperature to a minimum for a while, which will allow you to restore the desired level of cold as soon as possible.

A small freezer, which housed three plastic boxes of various sizes, received a volume of 80 liters. The defrosting system here is manual, which means that ice will form on the evaporator, which will reduce its efficiency. Therefore, several times a year you will need to turn off the device and remove ice and melt water yourself. The freezing capacity is 3.5 kg per day, and without power supply the products are guaranteed to be preserved for 19 hours.

The Bauknecht KGIS 3182 A3+ refrigerator looks the same in appearance as the previous device, its chambers have similar defrosting systems, but it differs from its “colleague” in some characteristics and capabilities.

Firstly, the energy consumption class is A+++. Over the course of a year, it will consume about 150 kWh, which is a very good result for a product with such a useful volume - its share in the monthly electricity bill will be minimal.

Secondly, the control panel is located at the top above the refrigerator. Buttons and small screens on which the temperature is displayed, as well as an indicator indicating an increase in temperature, are located right in front of the user’s eyes - you can quickly find out the current state of affairs.

Thirdly, the freezer can cool food at an accelerated pace thanks to the “Super Freeze” function. The faster the food turns into ice, the better it will retain all its nutritional properties, so when simultaneously storing a large amount of supplies, be sure to turn on this mode. It should be activated 10-12 hours before loading so that the temperature has time to drop to a minimum. The freezing capacity is 9 kg per day.

Dimensions of the Bauknecht KGIN 3184 A2+ model (height, width, depth) - 177x54x55 cm. Energy consumption class - A++, per year it uses about 230 kWh to maintain its vital functions. Noise level - 38 dB. The useful volume of the refrigerator is 201 liters, the freezer is 63 liters.

The device differs significantly from its predecessors, and further we will analyze in detail all its features.

It is equipped with an advanced cooling system that eliminates the formation of frost on the inner walls of both chambers. The principle of No Frost technology is extremely simple: the evaporator, which cools the air, is placed in a separate compartment, in which an ice crust is formed, and the air mass is distributed among the compartments using fans evenly - the same stable temperature is maintained in different parts of the chamber, which has a positive effect on shelf life and quality of products.

Above the large drawer for vegetables and fruits there is a plastic box called the “Fresh Zone”. This is the area of the so-called “dry cold”, in which the temperature is zero and the humidity is around 50%. These conditions are the best for storing fresh meat or fish. With these parameters, the products will retain all the nutrients for several days - you will not need to cook it immediately after purchasing meat, and especially not need to freeze it.

This device, like many Bauknecht refrigerators that belong to the highest price segment, use Green Intelligence technology in their operation. Its essence is as follows: the product is equipped with sensors that monitor the temperature inside all compartments, and, based on their data, automatically maintains the temperature you set. If the temperature rises for some reason (for example, you put several large dishes at room temperature inside or the door was open for a long time), then the sensors will instantly detect this change and give an order to the compressor so that it quickly restores its original state. According to manufacturers, thanks to this system, a return to optimal conditions will occur five times faster than in a conventional device. In addition, supplies freeze faster and energy consumption does not increase.

The illumination in the walking chamber is provided by LEDs, which, unlike standard incandescent lamps, consume less electricity and emit virtually no heat. Best of all, the LED lights illuminate the entire compartment with bright, even light for excellent visibility.

The doors are equipped with an automatic closer, which, according to German engineers, closes them “safely and gently.” With the SoftClosing system, you don’t have to worry about the door not being closed - just a light push and everything is in order.

Freestanding refrigerators

Dimensions of the Bauknecht KG 332 A2+ WS device (height, width, depth) - 188x60x64 cm.

Energy consumption class - A++, annual "appetite" - 230 kWh. Noise level - 39 dB. The total volume is 339 liters, and it is distributed as follows: the refrigerator took 226 liters, and the freezer - 113 liters.

This ordinary device cannot boast of anything interesting. The upper compartment is equipped with a drip defrosting system, and the lower one is manual. In its work, it does not use any progressive solutions, and even the functions “Super Cooling” and “Super Freezing” are also absent here - it may be of interest to people who are suspicious of all innovations and are accustomed only to the basic capabilities of this type of equipment.

In comparison with the previously reviewed model, the Bauknecht KGN 3382 A2+ Fresh WS product has taken several confident steps forward.

Green Intelligence technology monitors the temperature regime here, and LED lamps are used for lighting.

A “Freshness Zone” has appeared in the refrigerator above the box for vegetables and fruits, and even higher we see a removable metal shelf, which is designed to “park” large bottles. It will securely fix and hold both glass wine bottles and plastic containers for various drinks.

The silver refrigerator Bauknecht KGN 2183 A2+ IL is a rather non-standard device.

The upper compartment with a useful volume of 255 liters received a drip defrosting system, and the freezer with a volume of 97 liters uses No Frost technology in its operation. This rare combination will simplify the life of the owner of this device, saving him from lengthy and tedious cleaning.

Additional functions include “Super Freezing” and “Super Cooling”.

Dimensions of the Bauknecht KGN 5492 A2+ Fresh PT device (height, width, depth) - 200x60x71 cm. Energy consumption class - A++, it will consume about 250 kWh per year. The volume of the refrigerator is 247 liters, the freezer is 97 liters.

This product, which occupies the top of the range, has all the capabilities, as well as the smart functions that we discussed above. In addition, here the “giants” are waiting for us in the final part of the review, which will be devoted to the Side by Side family of refrigerators.

Refusal to use freon

Bauknecht stopped using freon in refrigerators in 1993.

Service at the price of a local call

In 1994, Bauknecht Germany became the first household appliance manufacturer to introduce a single service number – 0180. This reduced the cost of technical support for customers to the cost of a local telephone call.

Ten millionth washing machine

In 1997, the ten millionth washing machine rolled off the production line in Neukirchen. That same year, Bauknecht announced an eight-year parts replacement warranty.

Optimization of cooking technologies

In the nineties, Bauknecht introduced the first cookers and ovens with Pure Halogen and Lightronic technologies. Thanks to them, the ovens reach the set temperature much faster and maintain it more accurately, which ensures optimal results when frying and baking.

Washing cycle for wool items

Bauknecht has always strived to achieve optimal washing results. The “wool” cycle in the company’s washing machines is completely similar to hand washing.

Thermodry system

In the nineties, dishwashers introduced the Thermodry system, which allows dishes to be dried using air flow. An additional advantage of this technology was the low noise level.

How does an automatic machine work?

What is the brand's popularity based on? The main feature of Bauknecht machines in terms of operation is minimal human participation in the washing process and maximum concern for the environment. New models are even more economical and efficient in operation. The constant introduction of innovative technologies improves the quality of washing significantly. At the same time, the needs of clients are taken into account as much as possible. It is these innovations and other features of washing machines that will be discussed further.

Zen technology

It involves the use of an asynchronous direct drive motor. Allows you to make the washing process minimally costly in terms of energy consumption and as silent as possible. The innovation is used in models with both front and vertical loading of laundry.

EcoStyle

EcoStyle series machine models have an excellent design and a full range of options. Here the manufacturer managed to achieve the highest degree of energy consumption. The cars are 30% more economical compared to class A.

SmartSelect

Thanks to SmartSelect, the operation of the machines has become more convenient. Even an inexperienced user can master simple and intuitive controls. The equipment itself can select washing parameters based on the type and color of the fabric. To do this, you just need to press a few appropriate buttons.

Dynamic Intelligence

The technology ensures maximum optimization of the washing process. This is achieved through built-in sensors that monitor all stages. For example, they determine the number of loaded items and, based on this, select the required volume of water and energy costs. In this way, machines can save up to 50% of water in one cycle.

EcoTank and EcoBall

Innovative systems can reduce detergent consumption. They make it impossible to remove insoluble powder residues from the tank. And front-loading machines also use a “smart” dispenser. He himself determines the amount of powder needed depending on the volume of laundry, its type and degree of contamination.

ProSilent

The ProSilent brushless motor ensures minimal noise levels and reduces vibration during operation. Now washing at night is quite possible. In addition, the manufacturer provides a 10-year warranty on the motor.

WPRO SKS100

A device from Bauknecht will help you easily install dryers and washing machines in a column.

WPRO SKS100 is a retractable platform that is installed between two devices.

It is designed to provide maximum convenience. You can easily place both a basket with laundry and detergents on the platform.

As you can see, he knows how to attract attention and how to expand the circle of his clients. German quality and modern technology do their job. Therefore, the level of brand awareness among potential buyers is constantly growing.

XXI Century

Innovative coating

The stainless steel coating looks great, but requires constant maintenance. Bauknecht's award-winning ProTouch coating is free from fingerprints, dirt and scratches.

SuperEco

Economical washing: The SuperEco cycle, introduced in Bauknecht washing machines in 2006, uses up to 67% less energy than cycles in older machine models.

PowerClean

Dishwashers with PowerClean technology have 32 nozzles on the back wall. They deliver a cleaning solution under high pressure, allowing even burnt-on and dried-out food to be removed without increasing water consumption.

Using the power of steam

Bauknecht household appliances use the power of steam: from preparing dishes in steamers while preserving all vitamins and microelements to “soft” washing clothes and washing dishes.

Reviews of the WCMC 71400 model

The next model on our list has front loading, electronic control and the ability to select washing temperatures. The maximum load is 6 kilograms. The drum rotation speed during spinning is 1400 rpm.

Reviews say about this model that it is one of the best washing machines from Bauknecht. Unlike previous devices, having a spin speed of 1400, it does not make much noise. Most consumers note the quiet operation of the machine.

The machine also has technology that automatically determines how much powder and water it will require for washing. This makes it easier to use. The quality of washing is level A-A+. The price of the device is high, but most people who have this machine say that it is worth the money and recommend it to others.
