How to correctly decipher the markings and symbols on Bosch washing machines

As you know, Enkor is a dealer of Bosch, which supplies the Russian market with a lot of products for both professional and household use. Screwdrivers, drills, hammer drills, grinders, and Bosch milling cutters are popular among customers. Perhaps it is against the backdrop of this popularity that the question of the labeling of the company’s tools very often arises Robert Bosch.

As you know, many power tool manufacturers use an alphanumeric code in their model names. This code allows you to determine the most important parameters of the tool just by its name. This is exactly how Bosch labels its products, but in addition to this, color marking is also used.

Interesting? Read on and in just a few minutes you will be able to tell about the parameters of a Bosch tool just by looking at its name!

Countries in which Bosch washing machines are assembled

Some Bosch washing machines have an index that means the following:

  • OE – denotes one of the former CIS countries: Russia, Ukraine or Belarus.
  • EE - Spain.
  • BY – Eastern Europe.
  • GB - England.
  • EU – either Eastern or Western Europe.

Are you unplugging your washing machine?

Oh yes! No

In another embodiment, the country of assembly is determined by a three-digit letter code. Examples:

  • WAS, WLX – Germany.
  • WAE – Türkiye or Poland. The exception is the model marked WAE28441, which is also German.
  • WLF - often Germany, and if the number code ends in 4 or 5 - China.
  • WAA - Türkiye.
  • WOT - France.
  • WOR - Poland. Legacy WFX - also Poland.
  • WLM - China.

Ask a Question

Important! The three-digit letter code is usually placed at the end of the machine marking and should not be separated by spaces. That is, if, for example, the designation is “W AE 24460 OE”, then W AE does not mean that the machine is from Turkey, there is a different decoding, discussed in more detail in one of the sections below (more details for this example: W - washing machine in general, A - front-loading and E - capable of being fully integrated into furniture).

Power tool color

So let's start with color. Go to any power tool store (you can also visit our store). You won’t see any colors on the shelves: blue, green, yellow, orange, red, purple, gray... The variety makes your eyes widen! Some products are in the colors of their brand, but not all do this. And Bosch is a great example of this. By the color of a power tool you can determine its purpose: blue (dark green) is a professional tool, and light green is a household tool. Simple and clear.

By the way, here are some recommendations on operating modes for Bosch tools:

  • For household tools - work no more than 4 hours a day with a 15-minute break every hour
  • For a professional tool - work no more than 16 hours a day with a 15-minute break every hour.

General explanation of the markings of various models

This image will help you understand clearly.

Bosch washing machine markings

The first letter W denotes the type of equipment - a washing machine.

The next one is the CMA type. In the example given, the English L indicates that this is a narrow washing machine with front-loading of laundry into a 45-centimeter drum.

Other letters are deciphered as follows:

  • I - front built-in model.
  • A - frontal type, normal depth 60 centimeters.
  • O - vertical machine.
  • V - drying machine.
  • K - built-in washer-dryer.
  • E - fully built-in, with a hinged door.

The third letter is a series:

  • L, K, T, R - sixth series;
  • A, P, G, H - fourth;
  • S, W - eighth;
  • Y - Home Professional series.

Do you store laundry in the washing machine?

Oh yes! No.

In later models, the same letter, however, means the class of the machine, and there are the following options:

  • S - class F, premium with a load of 8 kilograms.
  • E - FV, middle class.
  • T - middle class PV with vertical laundry loading.
  • A - FX, basic class.
  • R - basic PX class with vertical laundry loading.
  • V - class P20.
  • X - forty-centimeter middle class SV.
  • D - class WV.
  • C - class WX.
  • B - premium class WW68, nine kilograms of laundry.

Next comes a digital indication of the spin speed. In the example given - 24, this means 1200 revolutions every minute (that is, multiplication by 50 times). Others explain it this way:

  • Number 12 - 600 revolutions;
  • 16 - 800 rpm;
  • 20 - 1000 rpm;
  • 28 - 1400 rpm;
  • 32 - 1600 rpm;
  • 36 - 1800 rpm;
  • And 40 - 2000 rpm.

Another combination with numbers is the type of control (for example, an electronic display - just 27).

The next number is the design of the washing machine. Almost always this is 1 - classic.

And the last two letters are the country of production; they were discussed in more detail in the section above.

How to find out the release date

It should be noted right away that there are batteries produced before 2014 and after. It was this year that the decision was made to change the labeling principle. Let's consider both cases.

The battery was manufactured before 2014

It would be worth thinking that a battery manufactured in these years is already close to the end of its service life. But we are talking about reliable Bosch products that can last for ten years. Of course, provided that the owner adhered to the operating rules and generally treated the power source with care. The markings used before 2014 were quite simple.

1 character – a letter indicating which plant the battery was produced at:

Explanation of release date until 2014.

  • C – Ceska Lipa (Czech Republic);
  • E – Burgos (Spain);
  • F – Rouen (France);
  • G – Guardamar (Spain);
  • H – Hannover (Germany);
  • S – Sarreguemines (France);
  • Z – Zwickau (Germany).

2nd character – conveyor number.

3rd character – destination of shipment:

  • V – for retail trade;
  • E – to the automobile plant;
  • C – made to order from a partner.

4th character – year of manufacture:

  • 0 – 2010;
  • 1 – 2011;
  • 2 – 2012;
  • 3 – 2013, etc.

5th and 6th characters – month:

  • 01 – January;
  • 02 – February;
  • 03 – March, etc.

7th and 8th characters – number.

Let's look at the example of a battery marked C8C8091310474. C – the battery was made in the Czech city of Ceska Lipa. 8 – shipped from conveyor belt number 8. C – manufactured according to the partner’s order. Now as for the date. These are the numbers 80913, where 8 is 2008, 09 is September, 13 is the date.

The battery was produced after 2014

The marking principle has become somewhat more complicated for the average user:

  • 1 character – production features;
  • 2nd symbol – conveyor;
  • 3rd symbol – plant (decoding as before 2014);
  • 4, 5 and 6 characters – date of manufacture.

The date is encoded in three digits, and it is deciphered using a special table.

Determining the release date using the table.

On the battery case, in addition to these symbols, you can find other markings:

  • SAP (6 characters) – the manufacturer uses this code to track battery batches;
  • FIFI (4 characters) – code for the logistics service, reflecting the activation time of the battery.

No matter how much data is encrypted, users are interested in the date - knowing it, it is easier to imagine future prospects with the battery.

Designations on the Bosch SMA

So, examples are given and it’s worth clearly deciphering the sign of Bosch washing machines for a better understanding:

WLT 20271 OE. It is enough to check the previous sections and understand the following:

  • The first letter is always “W” because that is what represents the washing machine.
  • The second is L. A narrow forty-five-centimeter body. Loading option - horizontal.
  • The third is T. That is, this is the sixth episode.
  • Next, the number 20 is a thousand revolutions.
  • Further figures, as stated above, are control options. “27” indicates the presence of an electronic display.
  • Number 1 is a classic appearance option.
  • And OE - this model was produced in Ukraine, Russia or Belarus (most often - Russia).

Do you turn off the water tap after washing?

Oh yes! No.

This is a simple example, but there are shortcuts as well. What can you say about, for example, WM 16 S740?

Everything is clear about W and M. But then the series is skipped - this happens, but in this case the next 2 digits are still revolutions, that is, 16 is 800 revolutions per minute.

And then something new appeared: the letter S breaks the digital list.

In this case, it denotes the platform: in this particular example, the new F20. And there are:

  • E - FV sixty centimeters.
  • A - FX sixty centimeters Entry.
  • X - SV 44 cm.
  • F - SX 44 centimeters Entry.
  • T - PV platform vertical.

Then the numbers that are not particularly interesting and important are the type of design and design, which is why they were not examined in more detail. But the country of origin is not indicated here - again, this is possible.

This is a variant of a slightly “shortened and expanded sign”. It’s also useful to be able to understand these, but with the explanations above it won’t be difficult.

Features of Bosch batteries

It is not news to a car owner that the battery is the device responsible for starting the engine. It is she who provides the necessary starting currents for this process. Like other components, the battery has a limited service life, which is why many people treat it as a consumable item. The resource depends not only on operating conditions and compliance with the rules of use, but also on time. Bosh is a renowned company that values its reputation, but even its products do not last forever.

There are three series of starter batteries from this manufacturer:

  • S – for passenger cars;
  • T – for trucks, buses, tractors, special equipment;
  • M – for motorcycles, scooters, snowmobiles, ATVs, mini-tractors.

Since 2007, maintenance-free batteries for passenger cars have been produced. These are the series:

  • S3 – economy class series;
  • S4 Silver is a universal series, characterized by balance in price and quality;
  • S5 Silver Plus – premium class, with high starting currents for operation in any weather;
  • S6 AGM - high-power, high-quality and expensive batteries.

This company produces batteries responsibly. If new technologies are available, they are used. As a result, we can highlight the following technical features of Bosch power supplies:

  • PowerFrame grid – increases resistance to self-discharge and rust formation. Its structure is asymmetrical, and the lead is located unevenly, this is necessary to increase the starting currents and extend the service life of the battery;
  • cover with double labyrinth and membrane gas-permeable filter. Due to these elements, the batteries are of a maintenance-free type. The lid is completely sealed, does not allow electrically conductive liquid to pass through, and at the same time removes gases into the vehicle’s ventilation system;
  • reinforced fastening of the terminals to the plates to prevent a decrease in battery power and increase service life.

Bosch batteries are characterized by endurance and operate stably over a wide temperature range, but they are not protected from obsolescence. That is why many strive to ensure that the battery they purchase is as new as possible. To do this, you need to be able to read the markings, which encode the production date of the Bosch battery.
