To begin with, as always, turn off the machine from the network. The heating element in this car is located at the bottom of the tank. Therefore, we turn the car around and remove the back cover, for which we unscrew the screws of the back cover.

Ready. We got to the heating element. Now we pull off the power connectors and ground.

We take a tester (multimeter) and check the resistance of the heating element. First, we measure the resistance of the heater in Ohms between its ends, it should be approximately 25-30 Ohms.

The device showed operating resistance, which means the heater is not “broken,” in other words, its internal coil is working. Now we measure the resistance between the ends and the body of the ten on Mega Ohms. We set the device to 200 MOhm, check the heating element for breakdown (short to ground).

We see that the tester shows 8 MOhm, which should not be the case, that is, the heater is “broken” and shorted to ground. For a working heating element, when measuring the resistance per MOhm between the ends and the body, the tester will show 1 (one). But do not forget that before this check you must remove the power terminals from the heater.

So, our Candy heating element is faulty, we need to change it, which is what we’ll do next.
