Disassembling the Hansa washing machine

So, when you turn on the car, it displays code 07. Take note. You don’t have to disassemble the washing machine, just wait a couple of days for the water in the pan to dry.

To solve the problem, you need to remove the lower front cover, so the installed machine does not even need to be removed from the niche. You only need to unscrew 2 screws at the edges.

Then you need to pull the bottom cover towards you. The groove from which you need to remove the front cover is marked in blue.

Don't forget to remove the black hose, marked with a blue arrow.

Hansa comfort 1000 machine with aquaspray, throws error E03, does not drain - buzzes, pumped out the water, did not find any crime, then turned it on for spinning. I think the pump is still tired, has anyone replaced it? what code or parameters? By the way, I changed the bearing on the drum 2 years ago, six months ago I struggled with E22, I decided that the brushes were tired (they were completely tired - they were worn out and did not reach the winding) - I replaced it, no error.

Hello. See Hansa 800, the door does not lock. Error code 01.

Sergey wrote:

    The error may be caused by the following reasons:
  • the door is open;
  • the wire connections from the controller to the door lock are damaged;
  • lock or limit switch is faulty

The machine produces errors: P007, E321. There are no such codes anywhere in the instructions or description! It erases and cuts out itself and the plugs, it can do it both at the beginning and at the end! All the masters looked and said with 100% confidence that it was Ten! They replaced it, but the problem remained.

Hello! Does anyone have a faulty Hansa900 comfort machine? We need a door for it. The neighbor tried to open the door and broke it. The machine showed error N7, but the “savvy” neighbor continued to force and try to open the washing machine. The result is that things have been going out in the machine for the 3rd day, the door is locked and broken so that it cannot be opened. Now just hack. I'm looking for a replacement door. Hi all! I would be grateful for your advice. Full size washing machine HANSA AWN 610 DR. The machine is new, in use for 7 months. but it was purchased 1.5 years ago, so the warranty expired. The cause of the malfunction is as follows, after 10-15 minutes. The washing machine starts beeping and stops, then spins 2-3 times and beeps again. + in addition, when selecting a mode, the first mode is immediately remembered when scrolling with the mode selection roller. An option is to set the desired mode, and then plug the plug into the socket. What could be the reason? Thanks everyone for your answer!

Design and repair features of Hansa Comfort 800

All Hansa washing machines have several characteristic design features by which this manufacturer is easily recognizable, even if the name on the front panel has faded over time

1 - electronic power module combined with the control panel.

Hansa has been using this design for a very long time, at least since the early 90s, the design is well developed and the reliability does not cause any complaints. Failures of the Hansa control module are usually associated with short circuits in other components of the electrical circuit of the unit, mainly the Hansa drain pump switch and the hatch locking device. The control module provides self-diagnosis of errors and failures and a test program to check the functionality of most components of the Hansa washing machine.

Module maintainability 70%

2 - AquaSpray system using the main drain pump for recirculation.

To switch the direction of water flow, a special valve driven by a thermal relay is used. When a voltage of 220V is applied, a switch occurs and the cleaning solution begins to circulate 2-3 times per minute inside the tank. After removing the voltage, it takes approximately 3 minutes to return the valve to its original position to drain the solution into the sewer. Therefore, if you interrupt the washing program and immediately turn on the drain, it will take about 4 minutes and will cause the display of error code E-03 - a blockage or malfunction of the pump.

Whether the AquaSpray system improves washing quality is unknown, but it is absolutely certain that long-term operation of the drain pump greatly consumes its resource :(. Therefore, replacing the drain pump is one of the most common repairs for Hansa washing machines.

3 - removable lower part of the front panel for access to the main components and support shock absorbers for suspending the tank.

Unlike most other brands, Hansa washing machines have a front panel that is separately removable at the bottom. This is very convenient for repairs.

The second feature of the mechanical design is that the tank rests through shock absorbers on the bottom of the washing machine, and is not suspended by springs from the side walls.

Errors in Hansa washing machine with and without display

Details Author: evgenij Category: Washing machine error codes

Malfunctions and errors of the Hansa / Hansa washing machine

First, let's look at the problems associated with the AquaStop system and the water drainage system; these are, so to speak, the most common malfunctions in models of this brand. The AquaStop system is a function of protecting the washing machine from water leaks from the tank, pipes, hatch cuff and other parts through which water flows. If an error related to AquaStop appears, then there is no need to be afraid of anything, it’s just that many people think that this is a super complex device that is controlled almost by a space module, guys, everything is much simpler. AquaStop → is a foam float, which is located in the tray of the washing machine; in the event of a water leak, it rises and thereby puts pressure on the microphone, which gives a signal to stop washing and fill the water, at the same time the pump should turn on. It often happens that there is no water in the pan, and an error appears on the display. This is due to the fact that vibration could have caused some nasty stuff to get under this float or the float itself to become warped, and the result will be visible on the display. Now I want to talk about the drainage system. The Hans washing machine has a certain time in its brain for which the SMA must drain the water; if during this time the water remains in the tank, then a code associated with draining the water will undoubtedly be displayed. If such a malfunction occurs, first of all you need to clean the drain pump filter, then the pipe that goes from the tank to the pump body and finally blow out the drain hose. If all the procedures done did not help, change the pump, but before that try the following

  • Unscrew the drain pump filter
  • Take a flashlight
  • Shine the light inside the pump body
  • Take a good look at the impeller of the drain pump; usually all sorts of small nasty things, such as coins, paper clips, matches, etc., get stuck under it.

If you do all the procedures that I described above, then I think replacing the drain pump can be avoided. And to be completely sure, unscrew the pump filter and turn on the washing machine in drain mode. This is necessary in order to see how the impeller rotates, that is, whether the drain pump is working or not

Interpretation and description of errors of Hansa washing machines

We'll probably start with models without a display, and you can read the explanation of the error codes below. As I said above, there are two control panels that do not have a display, these are the PC series and the PA series. On a washing machine with a PA control panel, errors are read through a series of flashing indicators, the interval between series is about 5 seconds, the interval between flashes is 0.5/1 second. In general, your task is to count how many times the LEDs blink

Read error codes on a Hans washing machine without a PA series display

Photo of SM, which belongs to PA group models

The hatch door is not closed

Usually it occurs when you do not close the hatch door tightly or even forget to slam it. Another reason could be the failure of the locking mechanism on the door; to check it, you just need to check how springy the hook is, thanks to which the lock is locked

The washing machine did not have time to draw water in the allotted time

First of all, you need to look at the water pressure. To check, unscrew the water inlet hose from the washing machine and lower it into a bucket or basin. Another problem associated with this malfunction may be the valve filter, it is located in the valve body, can be pulled out using pliers → just pinch the tab with pliers and pull it towards you. If all this did not help, that is, the pressure is normal, the filter is not clogged, then you need to check the following details

  1. Water fill valve → you can simply apply 220 volts to it and watch how the water fills
  2. Pressure switch, also known as water level sensor → checked by replacement, with a known working part
  3. Pressostat tube → if you see that there is a lot of water in the car, and this error is displayed, then most likely the air pressure tube to the pressure switch membrane is either frayed, torn or clogged. With this error, the pressure switch can behave exactly the same

Well, the last reason, which you are unlikely to be able to eliminate with your own hands, is related to the control module. I don’t recommend getting into this spare part, you can only do harm

Problems with draining water

You need to do the following

  1. Clean the pump filter
  2. Blow out the water drain hose; during this procedure, do not forget to unscrew the drain pump filter. The fact is that in the main pipe, which goes from the tank body to the pump body, there is a plastic ball, if the filter is not unscrewed, it can be blown out inside the tank
  3. Remove the main pipe and rinse it thoroughly. It collects crap in it, no less than in the drain pump filter

If you do all these procedures and the result is zero, then you can think about replacing the pump. In general, I talked about this breakdown in detail in this article, believe me, there are nuances that you don’t even know about

Too much water in the washing machine tank

The culprit for this behavior may well be a pressure switch, but most often this breakdown is associated with improper operation of the valve or a malfunction of the pressure hose on the pressure switch membrane

The heating element does not heat the water

As you understand, we will talk about the heating element, but this is not the only detail that can affect the heating of water. First of all, you need to check the heating element, but we must not forget about the following components, which are also responsible for ensuring that your machine heats the water

Thermistor is also a temperature sensor → usually located in the heating element body or at the very bottom of the tank

Heating element relay → located on the control module

Contacts and wiring → special attention should be paid to this point; few people pay attention to the fact that the contacts are burnt, and sometimes even broken

I wrote a very good article on this topic, which you can read by following this link

Motor problem

The essence of the problem is that the control module does not see the rotation of the drum, or rather the rotation of the motor shaft. I will now list the details that need to be checked, and you can read more about this breakdown in this article

  • Hall sensor, also known as tachometer, also known as tachogenerator, and so on
  • Brushes on the engine → their length must be at least 1 centimeter from the brush body
  • Belt → you will probably be surprised, but on a Hansa washing machine, this error may well appear due to the fact that the drive belt has broken
  • Control module → the triac and the circuit that controls it are usually checked

Problems with network voltage

In general, Hansa washing machines of almost any model are very picky about operating conditions, in particular the quality of the supplied electricity. In short, the outlet must have at least 200 volts and no higher than 250 volts, otherwise in most cases, this washing machine will not wash. I had a case where people could not do laundry for a month, and all because they had a 250/260 volt power supply. The problem was solved by installing a 3 kW current stabilizer, this was the only way they could get out of the situation

AquaStop system activated

At the very beginning of this article, I specifically paid attention to this particular function, just go above and read. So I’ll say that you need to check for water leaks in the washing machine tray.

Problems with the control module

Everything here is so simple that you can’t even imagine it → in short, don’t be weird, call a specialist

Read error codes on a Hansa washing machine with and without display → PC series

For Hans PC series washing machines, with and without a display, the error codes will be the same, the only difference is that some have an electronic display, while others do not. I’ll start with cars that do not have a display, or rather, with how to read the error code from the indicators on the control panel

Photo of the Hansa PC series washing machine

In the photo above, I labeled buttons A, B, C, D, which determine the error code in washing machines without a display. For example, if 2 indicators “B and C” are lit, then this will correspond to error code E3, namely a problem with draining water. Below you will see a table with a complete breakdown of the code

Basic problems. DIY repair

Let's look at typical malfunctions, as well as self-repair options for popular SMA models: Hansa Aqua Spray, Hansa Dynamic System, Hansa Comfort, Hansa Optimum.

Clogged drainage system in Hans machine

A clogged drain pipe, filter or pump can cause poor water drainage. It is recommended to clean them to prevent damage. But if you have already noticed a problem, then do this:

  • Unplug the washing machine and turn off the water.
  • Having disconnected the SM from the communications, remove the top panel by unscrewing the bolts.
  • Open the hatch door.
  • Remove the metal clamp by bending the cuff.
  • Tuck the cuff inside the tank.
  • Take out the dispenser tray and unscrew the bolts behind it.
  • Remove the drain filter flap.
  • Place the container and drain the remaining water by unscrewing the filter. Check it immediately for blockages.
  • Unscrew the screws securing the front panel.
  • Release the connections of the locking device and remove the panel.
  • Loosen the clamps of the pipe and hoses. At the same time, inspect the pipe for blockages.
  • Unclench the pump connections and unscrew the mounting bolts.

Having taken out the pump, inspect it: perhaps there is a thread or a piece of fabric wrapped around the impeller. Installing the pump for the Hans washing machine is carried out in the reverse order. This simple repair can be done with your own hands.

Heating element malfunction

The heating element in Hans washing machines fails quite often. This can happen due to sudden changes in voltage in the network. As a result, a short circuit occurs and the element breaks.

Hard, poor-quality water causes scale formation. Because of this, the heating element overheats and burns out.

You can understand that the heating element is faulty by external signs. If you notice that when you turn on the CM, the circuit breaker in the panel turns off, or the fuse has blown, the reason may be in the heater.

Another sign is that the laundry does not wash well, and there is a musty smell because the water is not heated.

To replace the heater, you need to remove the front panel. How to do this, see above, in the disassembly diagram for the Hansa washing machine.

Always unplug the machine before starting work!

We carry out repairs ourselves:

  1. The heating element is located at the base of the drum.
  2. Unplug all wires leading to the heater.
  3. Loosen the center nut.
  4. Push the nut inward, pressing out the gasket.
  5. Now you can remove the heating element and install a new element.

Malfunction of the Aqua Spray system (Aqua Spray)

The Aqua Spray function in the Hans washing machine allows you to use water more economically and wash your clothes more efficiently. Through a special fitting located on top, water under pressure irrigates the laundry, promoting better stain removal.

The disadvantage of the system is the narrow path through which water is supplied. If it becomes clogged, a malfunction occurs.

How to fix the situation yourself:

  • Once you remove the top cap, you will find the fill valve.
  • The system path is located next to the valve.
  • Remove the plugs.
  • Carefully pour warm water into the hole. If the water does not drain well, it means the system is clogged.
  • Using a thin wire, clean the path, gradually pouring water.

Have you noticed that the water is draining quickly? You managed to fix the problem yourself.

Failures in the electrical network of the Hans washing machine

The modern electronic washing machine system does not always withstand voltage surges. The control module is protected from malfunction by a noise filter, which serves as a stabilizer. In the event of a power surge, it takes the entire “blow” upon itself.

But it happens that the filter burns out. Then Hans's washing machine may not turn on and he needs a replacement.

  1. Once you remove the top cover, you will see a filter in the upper right corner.
  2. After unscrewing the fixing bolts, move the wires from the damaged filter to the new one.
  3. Secure it in place.

It is more difficult if the control module is faulty: to repair it you will need an electrical circuit. But in case of a breakdown, it is better to contact a service center.

What to do if your Hansa washing machine displays an error code

Almost all modern models of washing machines are equipped with a self-diagnosis system. The operation scheme is simple: the SMA (automatic washing machine), when a malfunction is detected, should display an error code on the indicator.

By deciphering the alphanumeric combination that appears on the display, you can fix the problem yourself or by contacting a specialized service center. Hans washing machine error codes (WMA) are usually presented in the form of two different blocks depending on the series of the equipment itself.

Errors in Hansa PA series washing machines

The hatch lock is faulty.

  • inspect the lock, handle and hatch door for damage;
  • diagnose the functioning of the UBL and wiring;
  • if necessary, replace damaged parts.

Water is not collected.

The reason may be:

  • low water pressure or lack of it;
  • blockages in the water intake system;
  • Malfunction of the water intake valve or pressure sensor.

The water does not drain even after the ten minute timeout has expired.

  • check the wiring, pump and relay that controls the pressure for serviceability;
  • if necessary, replace the corresponding broken sections.

    Hans washing machine pump

Overflow of water in the tank.

  • carry out thorough wiring testing;
  • also carefully inspect the pump and pressure switch for damage;
  • replacement is possible.

Washing is done with cold water, regardless of the selected program.

  • incorrect operation of the heating element, temperature sensor (its wiring);
  • the voltage in the network is insufficient.

Shutting down the machine after starting its engine three times.

  • it is necessary to test the engine itself, the tachometer, and the controller directly;
  • inspect the contact insulation for integrity.

The spin program is not accompanied by a corresponding tachometer signal.

Remedy: identify possible malfunctions in the operation of the motor and Hall sensor, as well as electrical board circuits.

Electrical error code. The specified parameters have been exceeded.

AquaStop is activated, there is a leak.

  • the AquaStop system gives a false signal, it needs to be tested;
  • violation of the tightness of one of the functional units of the washing machine.

Sudden stoppage of work.

Hansa washing machine electronic module

  • the electronic module is faulty and requires repair or replacement;
  • restarting the device.

The controller throws an error. Replacement required.

SM Hans fault codes

To better understand where to look for a problem, you need to know the meaning of the error code that is issued by the self-diagnosis system. Thanks to this function, you can quickly determine which part of the machine is faulty. The table below shows error codes for Hansa machines.

Error code (for PS series)Meaning (decoding)
E01There were problems closing the hatch door.
E02The water did not reach the required level within 2 minutes.
E03Hans's washing machine does not drain water (after 1.5 minutes).
E04Overflow of water in the SM tank.
E05The water level has not reached the set level within 10 minutes.
E06The water is drained within 10 minutes, but the pressure switch does not send a message to the module.
E07There is a leak.
E08Electrical error.
E09Too much foam during spin cycle.
E11Malfunction of the triac, which is responsible for the hatch locking device.
E21The engine is blocked. There are no signals coming from the tachometer.
E22The engine started working without a command from the main module.
E31Thermal sensor short circuit.
E32Temperature sensor wiring fault.
E42The program is finished, but the door does not open after 2 minutes.
E52Controller memory error.
Error codes (for PA series)Meaning
E01Problems with the door limit switch.
E02Within 3 minutes, the water in the tank did not reach the first level.
E03There is no data from the level sensor about draining water within 3 minutes.
E04In the middle of washing, the level sensor sends a signal to the module about water overflow.
E05Thermal sensor wiring is faulty.
E07, E08No tacho generator data.
E10Incorrect electrical network parameters.
E11Electric motor triac short circuit.
E12There is a leak.
E14Control module malfunction.
E15Main module failure. The code appears immediately after starting the washing machine.

Washing from Hansa: some distinctive features of washing machines

Washing machines from different manufacturers are designed basically the same; their design presupposes the presence of basic functional units. However, despite the general similarity, each brand brings its own distinctive “zest” to the models.

Washing machines from Hans are no exception. This mainly applies to Hansa Comfort800 (Hansa Comfort 800), Hansa Comfort1000 (Hansa Comfort 1000) and the Hansa Optima 800 line:

  • The Soft Drum type drum is extremely gentle on fabrics, even in intensive washing mode, thanks to the “honeycombs” on its surface. They simply eliminate the destructive contact of the laundry with the walls of the drum.

    Soft Drum type

  • The Logic Drive motor operates due to the influence of an electromagnetic field. This allows the drum to rotate carefully and quite quietly. It has a long service life due to the reduction in the number of component parts, especially those susceptible to mechanical wear.
  • The Aqua Ball Effect system allows you to reuse unopened detergent granules.
  • In the latest lines of Hans machines, the volume of the laundry hatch has been increased, which allows you to easily load large items.
  • Balance control. The design of washing machines is supplemented with a 3D sensor that controls the uniform distribution of laundry in the drum. If for some reason the laundry still bunches up into one large lump, the drum will immediately begin to perform reverse-type actions for optimal load distribution.
  • Each model is protected from emergency overflow and power surges with subsequent saving of the specified washing program. There is also control over the excessive formation of foam from the powder; if necessary, a re-rinse will automatically start.
  • The latest models are equipped with a fast and high-quality wash mode in just 15 minutes, as well as a delayed wash function until a time convenient for the user.

  • Possibility of creating individual programs and operating modes.
  • The Hans Aqua Spray program deserves special attention. It involves pumping washing powder through a filter with a special pump. Thus, the cleaning solution is sprayed into the upper part of the tank through an additional hole (spray) located in the hatch cuff.

Despite all the advantages of the design of washing machines of the brand in question, as with the use of other household appliances, cases of failure do occur. Therefore, it is very important to be able to correctly decipher the error codes that the machine produces. This will help determine which unit or part of the unit is faulty, and therefore will greatly facilitate the repair itself.
