Connection

Self-connection of the Ardo A600X machine is usually performed in cases where the owners of the washing machine cannot call a technician for financial reasons. However, when connecting yourself, you should follow safety precautions. Otherwise, you may break the device. And the manufacturer will refuse to perform warranty repairs because they are not responsible for your actions.

How to connect the washing machine correctly? First, unscrew the transport bolts. To do this, they must be rotated counterclockwise. It is recommended to keep all washers, bolts and O-rings. You will need them if you transport the Ardo A600X again.

Next, according to the instructions, completely dismantle the back side of the washing machine and remove the shipping spacers. Then you need to screw the wall back into place.

Then place the washing machine in the installation location, which must be prepared in advance.

Using a building level, level the body. To do this, tighten all the legs of the washer one by one. Next, screw on the inlet hose. One end of the hose must be connected to the outlet of the inlet hose. It is located on the back of the case in the upper right corner. The second end of the hose is screwed to the outlet of the water supply.

Don't tighten too much. It is important to note that if the water pressure is low, the water pipe will not draw water into the washer.

Next, you need to connect the drain hose. One end is already attached to the Ardo A600X washing machine. Connect the other end to the sewer pipe.

Upon completion of this work, check the tightness of the connections of the two hoses. Water should not leak. Next, we connect the equipment to the power supply and check its operation.

Water does not fill into the car

A fairly common problem that is usually quite easily solved with simple actions.

Solutions:

1. It is necessary to check the presence of water in the water supply. It’s trite, but very often the cause of an imaginary problem is such funny things.

2. The inlet hose is squashed or clogged. We check visually for the absence of compression. We unscrew the hose from the washing machine, open the tap and see if the water will come through? Of course, you need to make sure that the water does not flow onto the floor. If the water does not come out, we find and remove the blockage. The hose with the leakage valve will have to be replaced with a new one after the protection is activated.

3. Clean the inlet filter mesh on the back wall of the washing machine. The mesh is quite fine and often becomes clogged with rust or other particles from tap water. The filter can be easily removed using pliers and cleaned thoroughly.

4. You need to make sure that the fill valve is working properly. It is located immediately behind the filter. The valve becomes accessible after removing the top cover of the washing machine. Perhaps the power wires have come loose or frayed. To check its functionality, the valve itself can be removed and connected to the voltage indicated on its body. Must open. If it doesn't work, you'll have to replace the valve with a new one.

5. The problem may be due to a faulty water level sensor. Or in other words, a pressure switch. You can also find it under the top cover. It comes off quite easily. It is held on the washing machine body with screws or latches. We check the integrity of the wires and their connection to the sensor.

A tube fits from below to the pressure switch. It may be clogged. The simplest test for the functionality of the sensor after removing it is to blow into its tube. If you hear a click, the pressure switch is most likely working. Otherwise you will have to replace it with a new one. It is important not to mix up the wires when installing a new one.

Water does not drain

In general, Ardo washing machines are prone to problems associated with various types of blockages. The lack of drainage is precisely what is most often caused by this factor.

Common causes and solutions:

1. Again about the banal - you need to make sure that the sewer pipe is not clogged. Maybe the car simply has nowhere to drain the water. Of course, this is possible for machines with a permanently connected drain.

We also check the drain hose of the washing machine. It should not be bent or twisted. In principle, you can disconnect the hose from the sewer and check whether water comes out of it when draining? If it comes out, we clean the sewer. If not, check the hose for blockages. Problem still exists? Let's look further.

2. The drain filter is clogged. A simple, but most common reason for the lack of drainage. The filter is located at the bottom of the washing machine under the door or decorative panel. It is a screw plug screwed into the machine body using a standard right-hand thread.

Accordingly, the filter is unscrewed counterclockwise. Don’t forget to place a tray under the washing machine to collect any leaking water. After removal, the filter is cleaned of contaminants. You will need to remove excess in the place where the filter was installed. Next, reverse the process and check the drain. Most often it helps.

3. The drain pump is blocked or faulty. A common problem with Ardo washing machines is the pump blocking due to foreign objects getting into it. Various coins, buttons and other objects left in the pockets of clothes being washed, getting inside the drain pump, prevent it from performing its functions.

A symptom of blocking a working pump is that when the drain is turned on, the pump hums and tries to expel water, but cannot. Another option is that the pump has become completely unusable. In any case, it will have to be removed.

In Ardo washing machines, it is very easy to access the drain pump through the bottom of the machine. They have no bottom or are covered with an easily removable plastic strip. It is enough to lay the car on its side and access is open. Before removing, you can check the functionality of the pump with a multimeter.

Next, the clamp of the rubber pipe is loosened and it is separated from the pump. Same procedure for the drain hose. The power cords are disconnected. All that remains is to unscrew the screws that hold the pump in place and remove it. A working pump is disassembled. And foreign objects are removed from it. The faulty one is replaced with a new one.

4. Lack of drainage may be caused by improper operation of the pressure switch. It simply may not send a signal to the control module about the need to drain. We have already discussed what needs to be done with the water level sensor above.

Water does not heat up

One of the most typical troubles specific to Ardo washing machines. They are quite sensitive to the quality of tap water and “do not like” its excessive hardness.

What causes the problem and how to deal with it:

1. The most likely option is that the heating element burned out. The reason is the formation of a large amount of scale due to poor water quality. The process of replacing the heating element itself is not particularly difficult to do on your own. Unscrew the fastenings of the back cover and remove it.

A heating element is inserted into the lower part of the tank and wires are connected to it. You can check the integrity of the heater circuit with a multimeter. The wires are disconnected from the faulty element and the fastening in the middle is unscrewed. Next, the heating element is carefully pulled out of the tank. Surely its surface looks unpresentable.

As a result, a new heating element is installed in the old place. And after connecting it, the operation of the washing machine is checked.

2. A rare but possible breakdown is a malfunction of the temperature sensor. It is checked by measuring resistance at room temperature and when heated with hot water. A non-working sensor is simply replaced.

3. You need to make sure that the contact group of the heating element relay on the control module is not “sticking”.

Extraneous noise when the drum rotates

This usually happens when the drum bearing of the Ardo washing machine breaks. Another symptom is the appearance of backlash. The problem is quite unpleasant, but solvable. The difficulty is that to replace the bearings you will have to almost completely disassemble the washing machine.

The result of disassembly will be the removal of the tank of the car along with the drum. To replace the bearings, you will need to disassemble this structure. Perhaps, disassembling the Ardo washing machine and replacing the bearings yourself is a topic for a separate review.

Control block

Probably the most unpleasant type of breakdown is the failure of the electronic control unit of the Ardo washing machine. Unpleasant because repair of such a block is hardly possible. It will need to be replaced. But it is usually ordered at a service center and is not cheap. It must be pointed out that all the problems or malfunctions described above can be caused by incorrect operation of the control unit.

What conclusion can be drawn in conclusion? Problems with the operation of Ardo washing machines are more than solvable. Major problems are caused by reasons that do not even necessarily involve repairs.

Dispenser and control panel

The Ardo A600X washing machine contains a mechanical control panel. There are five buttons on it, as well as two switches.

The selector located on the right is used to select programs. And using the second switch, the required water heating temperature is set.

In the center of the panel there is a warning button indicating whether the machine is on or off.

The leftmost button on the control panel is necessary for additional rinsing. The button located to the right is needed to temporarily stop the wash without draining the water from the drum.

When you press the button located in the middle, the spin is turned off. This means that after washing the water will be drained from the tank. The second button from the right is needed to reduce the duration of the wash cycle. The right button is needed to turn the washing machine on and off.

The Ardo A600X washing machine contains a powder dispenser with three compartments. Pour powder for the main wash into the middle compartment, and for pre-wash into the left compartment. The right compartment is for rinse aids. For washing, you can use not only powders, but also liquid products intended for automatic machines.

Exploitation

When you first start the washing machine, you need to run a short program without loading laundry. This is necessary to clean the drum.

It is important to ensure that the water supply tap is open before washing clothes. You should also check your clothing pockets before washing and sort all your laundry.

Starting the Ardo A600X washing machine is done as follows:

First of all, load things into the drum. Their weight should not exceed the maximum allowable for the selected mode. For example, for the cotton mode, the maximum load is 5 kilograms of dry laundry. For delicate fabrics it is 2.5 kilograms, and for items made of wool – 1 kilogram.
Close the drum door of the Ardo A600X washing machine.
Next, pour the powder into the powder receptacle. Its quantity must correspond to the dosage. tray during washing to prevent water from leaking.
Then turn the selector until the desired washing mode is selected. Rotate the selector clockwise only.

I’ll start with a description of these washing machines, that is, I’ll tell you about the filling, namely the components that differ significantly from spare parts from other brands. I’ll say right away that if the SM comes from America, then the spare parts will cost an order of magnitude more, so if you choose this particular manufacturer, then it’s better to look for something like an Italian assembly, although there are some snags there too

Pump or drain pump → Unlike Indesit or Zanussi, there is a pump with 8 latches, which is much more expensive than a universal one (with three screws), to be honest, they work almost the same
Shock absorbers → If the car is from Italy, then they are usually inexpensive, if from the States, then their cost will differ noticeably, and not for the better for you. Not only are they expensive, but they are also weak; they usually last no more than 3-4 years.
Engine → A used engine is not so easy to find, but a new one costs a third of the car
Valves → No comments here, you can install from other brands, the main thing is that they fit the fasteners
Hatch cuff → Costs much more than with Indesit, and this elastic band has its own characteristics
Control module → This is a separate song, usually labeled “Minicel”. Although many people criticize these blocks, I personally treat it very kindly. The fact is that usually brains burn due to water getting on the motor terminals, this is where the designers made a mistake. When the bearings and oil seal fail, water from under the pulley flows directly to the motor terminals, resulting in a short circuit. This module did not provide any protection against this garbage
Pump filter → Quite well made, easy to reach, unscrews easily and holds small objects well
Lock → It rarely breaks, but it does happen, it costs more than Indesit
Bearings → In most cases, there are 204 and 203 bearings. The Indesit washing machine is made in Italy and has 204 and 205 bearings. Draw your own conclusions here

I think I disappointed you a little, in the sense that the price for repairing an Ardo washing machine will be much more expensive than, for example, Zanussi or Indesit. It is important to understand here that almost all modern Ardo SMAs are designed for a service life of 5-6 years. The fact is that the Italian-assembled Indesit is no worse in quality than the Ardo washing machine, and in some respects even better. In general, it's up to you. Unlike a brand like Bosch, the Ardo washing machine is unpretentious in terms of water pressure, but is very picky about the network voltage. Therefore, before you go to buy this SM, it is advisable to check the current in the outlet, it should not be higher than 240 volts and lower than 210 volts, if you see that these parameters are different for you, then it is better to think about buying something else. The washing machine must be installed on a flat surface, it is advisable to tilt it slightly backwards, this is necessary so that water does not spill out from under the powder container. Try to adjust the pressure so that it is not too high, it is better to let it be less, in these washers, water can be filled up to level 1 for up to 5-6 minutes, this is a definite plus. The drain hose must be raised to a height of at least 70 cm, look at the photo below

If you lower the hose below the required height, it is quite possible that self-draining will occur, that is, a siphon will form and the water will flow by gravity into the sewer. If there are tiles in your room where the SM will be placed, you will need to lay a rubber mat, this is necessary so that the machine will stand in place. Each manufacturer requires that their equipment be grounded, this is necessary so that the washing machine does not receive an electric shock, but unfortunately, almost no one does this. In principle, the manufacturer does not make any great demands, but the minimum ones must still be observed.

How to clean a washing machine

After you start using your washing machine, it is advisable to clean the pump filter at least once every 10 washes. I am often asked the question why the SMA does not switch to rinse or spin mode, the culprit for this may well be the drain pump

I have an Ardo washing machine, the washing modes are selected normally, the washing itself goes well, but sometimes it does not go to rinsing and very often it cannot spin out the laundry, and it does not drain the water well. In general, the drum rotates in one direction and the other, but does not go into spin mode. Cleaned the filter, but the situation did not change

In such cases, you don’t just need to clean the filter, you need to thoroughly clean the entire drain system, including the main pipe and drain hose. In general, you need to do the following:

Unplug the washing machine from the outlet
Unscrew the pump filter
Take a flashlight
Shine a flashlight on the impeller of the pump; it is under it that small objects such as matches, paper clips, snake catches and others often get clogged. If nothing is found under the impeller, proceed to the next step.
You need to blow out the drain hose → When you perform this operation, the drain pump filter must be unscrewed, this is necessary so as not to blow out the ball that is in the main pipe
Clean the main pipe → This pipe goes from the tank to the pump body, when you remove it, you will probably see a plastic ball in it, it is under it that dirt gets clogged. This pipe needs to be thoroughly cleaned and put back in place.

I personally have always been against all kinds of citric acids and calgons. There is no need to throw money away, believe me, calgon is an extremely useless thing. No matter what you use to clean the washing machine, if your water is bad, then nothing will help, citric acid combined with electrolysis, which is present in almost every machine, is an explosive mixture that corrodes the cross. How to extend the life of an Ardo washing machine

First of all, you must understand that the service life of the washing machine depends entirely on you and on the conditions under which it is operated, I mean external factors such as humidity. I am a master with many years of experience (more than 20 years) and believe me, I know what I’m talking about. Below you can read operating tips, which I will try to explain in detail.

90°C mode → Try to wash at high temperatures as little as possible. Large scale deposits occur not only on the heating element, but also on the glass of the hatch and also on the cuff of the hatch. As a result, after a short period of use, the elastic band may become unusable. Understand that scale on the hatch acts like sandpaper. In addition, high temperature affects the service life of the control module; they often bring me units for repair on which the contacts burn out, and the relay also burns out. If you look and touch the wires of the heating element, they will be very hard due to heating, that is, the insulation on them will be fragile. Do not forget that the heating element consumes about 2 kW
Separate socket → be sure to install a separate socket from the meter, for some reason many people think that the washing machine consumes little electricity, this is not true at all. For example, a boiler usually consumes about 2 kW and almost every apartment has separate wiring for it, why this is not done for a washing machine remains a mystery to me personally, because it consumes at least 2.5 kW
Tilt the machine back slightly → This will prevent rust underneath the powder container
Place a rubber mat → This is necessary for the stability of the washing machine; in addition, it will vibrate less. If you think that thanks to the rubber feet, the machine will stand rooted to the spot, you are a little mistaken. The less vibration, the longer the shock absorbers will last.
Spin mode → The maximum speed should not exceed 800 rpm. Understand everything that the higher the pressure will not be much better, but the higher the speed, the greater the wear of the bearings. Normal stepfather starts at 600 rpm
Sunroof glass → It is advisable to wipe it after each wash, this way you will remove scale from the glass. As scale accumulates, it will act like sandpaper.
Do not use citric acid → This crap, combined with electrolysis, corrodes duralumin parts. There is an aluminum crosspiece on the drum; three-year-old cars with damaged crosspieces are often brought to my workshop. Although such a picture is rarely observed on the Ardo washing machine, it is still better not to use any acids
Provide a separate outlet → This will not only protect your wiring, but will also prevent damage to the control module to a greater extent
Pump filter → It is advisable to clean it after every tenth wash. The main thing here is not to be lazy
After finishing washing → Do not forget to open the loading hatch and the powder container, 1-2 cm is enough. The whole point is that the machine will be ventilated, as a result there will be no unpleasant odor
Do not overload with laundry → This will shorten the life of the bearings. In addition, overload affects the correct operation of the control module
