Configuration

What difficulties may arise and what to do?

When connecting the Candy washing machine, the following unpleasant situations may occur:

1. Leak at the connection between the inlet hose and the water supply pipe. Replacing the rubber seal and reconnecting the inlet hose will help solve the problem.
2. Leak at the junction of the inlet hose with the body of the washing machine. To eliminate the leak, it is necessary to forcefully tighten the threaded ring on the inlet hose. Additionally, the joint can be coated with sealant.
3. Noise and strong vibration of the washing machine when first started. In such a situation, it is necessary to check whether all transport bolts have been removed from the washing machine body.

If the floor is covered with glossy tiles, you must place the household appliance on a special mat under the legs of the cabinet. This will help prevent the body of the household appliance from moving from its stationary place during the washing process.

Candy washing machine modes

Before you start working with the Kandy washing machine, you need to decipher the meanings of the symbols on the panel and become familiar with all the features of the modes. Depending on the model, the user is offered programs:

• Aqua-plus. Designed to completely rid the item of detergents and involves double rinsing.
• Intensive Aimed at removing serious contaminants using high heating rates and maximum speed.
• Delayed start. Allows you to set the start time for the next day. Before selecting a mode, the laundry must be placed in the drum, the powder must be poured into the container and then the start time must be specified.

• Soak. Suitable for very dirty items and provides two wash cycles. A low level of heat is used and the powder is poured into two containers at once.
• Wool. Designed for delicate woolen products, it is characterized by low heating temperatures and low speed of rotation.
• Express wash. Allows you to quickly refresh things in half an hour. Characterized by high drum rotation speed.
• Super wash. Consumes a small amount of electricity and is used only for cotton and synthetic materials.
• Super rinse. Used for children's products or items intended for allergy sufferers. This is how the Candy washing device ensures complete removal of detergent from laundry and clothes.
• Working with durable fabrics. Suitable for products made of cotton, linen, hemp, characterized by the use of a temperature of 90 degrees.
• Wash in cold water. For very delicate fabrics and is an alternative to hand washing.
• Sport. Designed for synthetic sportswear and shoes.
• Conditioning. Includes the use of conditioners, softening and flavoring agents.
• No drain. Recommended for items for which spinning is prohibited.
• Combined wash. Allows you to wash items from different fabrics and materials in one go.

When selecting a mode, the Candy Smart washing machine focuses on the type of fabric. There are four signs on its panel:

• Durable fabrics – intensive processing with intermediate spinning.
• Synthetic and combined - selects the number of revolutions and the amount of water so that the result is ideal.
• Delicate - more water is used and several long pauses are made during the work.
• Wool – minimal mechanical impact with strong rinsing.

Separately, it is worth dwelling on the powder receptacle compartments. All used detergents must be placed in it. Throwing powder onto clothing can harm both the device and the item itself. Candy washing machines have three compartments:

1. The compartment marked with the letter B is used in basic operating modes and is intended for dry or liquid powder.
2. The container marked with the letter A is used in the “soaking” mode, when the process uses two cleaning stages.

Review of the built-in electric oven Candy FCP615NXL

So we got to testing built-in ovens. Our first guest in this field is the Candy FCP615NXL electric oven. The device has the most popular and widespread size and displacement on the market, and is equipped with one baking sheet and a wire rack. In addition to top and bottom heating, there is a grill and convection, metal guides, a timer with a touch panel and recessed control knobs.

In short, the Candy FCP615NXL from the Pop Evo series has a minimal set of characteristics and skills by modern standards. The device is inexpensive and is clearly intended for the type of people who do not want to give up having a full-size electric oven in their home, who sometimes plan to bake or bake something, but have no desire to overpay for innovations such as pyrolytic cleaning, a built-in temperature probe, or whatever control from a smartphone.

We study the model, prepare simple dishes and figure out who it will suit best.

Characteristics

Equipment

The oven traditionally arrived to us in a simple cardboard package, typical of large household appliances. The packaging is nice and well thought out - it was easy to disassemble, it has almost no effect on the overall weight, few materials were used and the design looks safe.

Inside the box was the Candy FCP615NXL itself, and inside the oven there was documentation necessary for installation, screws, a sealing rubber band, a baking sheet and a grid.

At first sight

In front of us was an oven of classic size and shape, the color of our tester was black. During operation, the user sees only the front panel, which is why we paid attention to it. It would be fair to describe it as elegant.

The upper part in the center is the electronic control unit with large recessed round knobs on the sides. The lower part is a door with large glass and a large, comfortable handle. The rotary switches, handle and manufacturer's logo are of a pleasant steel color, overall harmonious and pleasing to the eye.

Inside, everything is quite expected: a black enamel container with a grill heating element on top and a convection fan hidden behind the grille of the back wall, on the sides there are metal guides for the baking sheet. You can remove them (for example, to wash them in the dishwasher).

The insides are illuminated with a regular LED, it shines well and does the job.

The equipment is not their rich: one baking sheet and one wire rack. There is nowhere less. On the other hand, not everyone needs more.

We were not very impressed with the thickness of the baking sheet - it turned out to be so thin that when it was first heated, it even bent when standing in the oven. However, then everything went fine. The same thing happened with the grate: during the first heating, two rods bent, then straightened out and did not cause any further trouble.

Instructions

The main instructions are a black and white brochure of 16 A4 pages, half of which are dedicated to the Russian version, and the other half to the Kazakh version. The instructions are aimed at buyers of several models at once, so we found a description of some functions and pieces of equipment that our model is not equipped with.

This organization is inconvenient and clearly invented out of economy, but it is fully compensated by the fact that reading eight pages in Russian once is more than enough. And in general, the oven is inexpensive, but how many people are willing to pay extra for more convenient instructions? The editors do not know for sure, but assume that obviously not everything.

Control

The basic controls are intuitive at first glance. The right rotary knob is responsible for selecting the mode, the left one sets the heating temperature. Everything turns easily and is tactilely pleasant. The handles can be recessed into the surface of the oven so that they do not stick out.

The proposed temperature modes, that is, applied to the surface in the form of numbers, are chosen a little strangely - however, it’s not difficult to get used to.

The modes are a little more complicated: there is lighting, defrosting, heating the top and bottom panels with convection, bottom heating with convection, simple top and bottom heating, and also a grill mode. For some reason, the “pizza” and “cook light” buttons were added. About the pizza mode it is said that hot air circulates in the oven, “providing excellent results for dishes such as pizza or Italian focaccia pie” - actually this is called convection, but, apparently, it is intended to recall the Italian roots and suggests cooking with reduced use “ fats and oils" on a grill with convection "with pulsating air supply".

A lot is not a little, you don’t risk getting confused in the main functions due to the abundance of additional ones - so why not.

The middle part of the control panel is electronic and dedicated to the timer. Touch controls can be used intuitively. The following functions are concentrated here: the oven can be locked from children, you can use the oven as a clock and even as an alarm clock, set a simple timer that will remind you of your oven at a given time, and also set a timer that will turn off the heating after a certain cooking time or at a certain time. That is, for example, “in two hours” or “at five in the morning.”

Connection

Connecting the oven to electricity is not difficult at all, since the maximum declared power is 2100 W, which is quite tolerable for a standard modern three-pin socket. The oven itself is equipped accordingly: a cable emerges from the back wall, about 8 mm thick, at the end equipped with a regular three-pin “schuko” plug. The manual clearly states that the device is designed “for connection only to electrical equipment with a voltage of 230 V [AC] between phases or between phase and neutral.”

Exploitation

During operation, both pros and cons of the oven being tested were identified.

As an advantage, we can note the convenient and very clear controls, which will not create any problems, even if elderly people come to stay with you or the oven ends up in a hostel where users change all the time.

The glass is double, there is a gap between the layers. Hot air is discharged through a groove in the upper part of the door and the glass does not heat up, remaining simply warm even at maximum heating.

Opening the door, pressing buttons, turning handles - everything is smooth, soft, nothing knocks or gets stuck, does not slam and does not create any problems at all.

Candy FCP615NXL heats up quickly and cools down quite quickly. Testing was carried out on hot summer days and the device did not create any inconvenience to the people near it. Actually, it's just an oven - all the simple tests we put it through, it passed well. Complex things such as dehydration modes, dough proofing or cooking with an accuracy of a given degree are not available to this inexpensive device.

In terms of accuracy, everything turned out to be quite unfortunate. The oven heats up much hotter than the value indicated on the corresponding scale. And if you can still adapt to this, like any housewife adapts to any oven, then uneven heating in the middle and in the corners is more difficult to come to terms with - read in more detail about our measurements below.

Care

Care - the so-called AquActiva (steam) integrated cleaning system. That is, it is supposed to place water in the oven to “steam off” the dirt in half an hour. There is a special button on one of the control handles - with droplets.

In other places - water, sponge, detergent, do not use abrasives. These are commandments that apply to most of these products.

The light bulb deserves special attention. It is protected by a glass cover and is easy to change. Technical characteristics of the light bulb: 230 V/25 W, E14 base, temperature 300 °C.

Our measurements

The maximum power consumption for the entire testing period was 2060 W, which is very close to the rated value of 2100 W.

We also decided to measure the correspondence between the temperature set on the control panel and the actual one. We set the temperature to 200 °C with the left knob, turned on the convection mode with top and bottom heating with the right knob, placed the temperature probe on the baking sheet and began to wait. Since turning on/off heating elements is used to maintain the temperature, the picture, regardless of the location of the probe, was always the same: first the temperature rose to a certain limit, then it began to fall (the heating was turned off), and then it began to rise again (the heating was turned on). We recorded the maximum and minimum temperature values ​​at various points on the baking sheet. If we imagine that the table below is a baking sheet that we are looking at from above, standing in front of the front panel of the oven, then the temperatures are distributed as follows.

What was somewhat alarming was not even the discrepancy between the temperature and the declared value, but the spread between the lower and upper values. To double-check, we set the temperature to 150 °C with the left knob and measured the actual values ​​in the center of the baking sheet. Alas, the result is approximately the same as the previous one: the temperature probe measured a range from 149 to 200 °C.

Practice tests

As a practical test, we cooked the most ordinary food in the oven. We deliberately did not set ourselves the task of testing the device using complex or exotic dishes, assuming that a potential buyer of an oven in this segment would be interested in how it would cope with simple everyday tasks. Thus, we prepared the following test dishes:

1. Mozzarella Pie
2. Pork baked in the sleeve
3. One Pot Roast Turkey
4. Omelette
5. Mom's cookies

Mozzarella Pie

We started with a lazy pie made from ready-made puff pastry. A standard layer of defrosted dough was stretched into a rectangle by hand, approximately 400 grams of mozzarella were grated on a coarse grater, which was salted a little and mixed with a couple of cloves of garlic. Rub some butter on top of the cheese filling.

Then we rolled out the second piece of dough and placed it on top. The resulting product was pinched along the edges, brushed with yolk and pierced in several places with a fork.

The cake was then placed in the oven, where it began to rise quickly. We used the “pizza” mode and a temperature of 170 degrees according to the position of the oven temperature lever.

After 25 minutes, our pie was ready and tormented the entire population of the nearby block with its wonderful smell.

As you can see, the difference in temperature in different parts of the oven did not affect our “khachapur” in any way: it was baked evenly throughout the entire depth, in the center and along the edges.

Result: excellent.

Pork baked in the sleeve

In this test we bake the simplest version of meat. 2 pieces of pork neck, a kilogram each, were stuffed with garlic, salted and sprinkled with a teaspoon of hot red pepper and a tablespoon of ground smoked paprika.

We put the mixture into a baking bag and sealed the edges with the clips included with the bag. We set the upper and lower heating mode and the temperature to 175 (in fact, as we now know, it will be higher than the nominal value). The bag was pierced in several places to allow hot air to escape, and placed in our test case.

After 1 hour 20 minutes, we opened the film and turned on the grill to brown the meat a little.

After another 10 minutes, remove the pork from the oven.

The meat was baked, it turned out tasty and aromatic. Surprisingly for such a high cooking temperature, after cooling it did not disintegrate into fibers and was easily cut into thin slices for sandwiches.

Result: excellent.

One Pot Roast Turkey

We continue to experiment. We took for each pot approximately the same set of products as in the photo: duck breast fillet and turkey thigh, some onions and carrots, some potatoes, herbs, a couple of cloves of garlic and a few prunes. To speed up the process, the potatoes were first placed in the microwave for three minutes.

The ingredients were placed in assorted pots, salt, pepper and a little water were added.

The pots were placed in the oven at 200 degrees. After a while the liquid began to gurgle.

Forty minutes later the stew was ready.

Result: excellent.

Omelette

We beat four eggs and a mug of milk with a mixer, adding a little salt. The frying pan was greased with oil and placed in the oven on the mark corresponding to approximately 160 degrees with convection.

The omelette did not rise as much as we expected, but it was covered with a nice crust, did not fall off after being removed from the oven, and turned out to be the most tender in consistency.

Result: excellent.

Mom's cookies

According to a family Siberian recipe, we mixed flour, egg, butter and sugar, adding a pinch of salt, a handful of dried and then ground sea buckthorn and a handful of pine nuts. The dough was rolled into a ball and placed in the refrigerator for half an hour.

Then the dough pieces were rolled into balls by hand, which were flattened and placed on a baking sheet. The baking paper was of an unfamiliar type, so it was pre-greased with oil.

The cookies somehow baked suspiciously quickly, and while we were running for the camera, they even got a little burnt on the bottom.

This turned out to be successful: we noticed that everything was fine around the edges, and that what was burnt was closer to the center of the pan. It was then that we discovered the need to test heating in different parts of the oven and were able to conclude that the device also has the disadvantage of a “tendency to overheat” and uneven heating in the center and along the edges.

As you can see from the practical tests carried out, this did not affect the preparation of dishes, except for the last one, and even then, if we had not been gaping and pulled out the cookies in time, we might not have noticed anything at all.

Result: good.

Not only did this dish inspire us to explore further, but it also turned out to be delicious: a plate of cookies fell apart before our eyes.

conclusions

We liked the Candy FCP615NXL electric built-in oven. It's sleek, affordable, and has all the basic features you need in a modern oven. It has the most common size on the market, and it is equipped with 7 operating modes, grill and convection. The baking tray and grid are placed on removable metal guides; operation is simple and intuitive.

A plus is the presence of a timer, which, among other things, can turn off the heating both after some time and upon reaching a certain time.

Among the minuses, the excess of the actual temperature from the nominally set one was noted, as well as the uneven heating inside the cabinet, which cannot be ignored, although they had almost no effect on practical tests and the quality of the resulting dishes.

The oven successfully passed all tests. You can use it to prepare dishes that belong to the “everyday” menu: simple pastries, meat, casseroles, etc. Advanced cooks, bread-baking maniacs and lovers of innovation will most likely find the functionality of the device insufficient. For an ordinary family who is looking for a simple, inexpensive oven and does not want to overpay for extra bells and whistles, the device is suitable.
