The machine won't turn on at all

As a result, the wash is interrupted. What could have happened:

  • Forgot to open the water supply tap or low pressure
  • Error when connecting the drain hose
  • A common cause is a broken fill valve or clogged filter.
  • Failure of the pressure switch: diagnostics with replacement of the part or cleaning of the water inlet path is required

After another attempt to start the engine, the washing stops and the water is drained. Causes:

  • Broken wiring in the TAXO circuit or loose contacts
  • The washer securing the coil came off the tachogenerator, causing the sensor to jump out of its mounting socket
  • The tachogenerator itself is faulty: it needs to be replaced
  • The motor can also break down: it needs to be diagnosed and repaired or replaced.

After 3 unsuccessful attempts to restart the engine in normal mode, the electronics ends the wash program and drains the water. You need to check the following:

  • Open circuit in the inverter: check the wires and contacts
  • A break in the motor winding: either the winding or the entire motor will need to be replaced
  • Something has broken in the electric motor, for example, the brushes could have worn out: it is better to call an experienced specialist for diagnosis and repair
  • The SM inverter board has failed: diagnostics, repair or replacement of the board

If a problem is detected, the washing is paused, the electronics tries to start the engine again, and after failure, it completely ends the washing program and drains the water.

Ring and repair the triac circuit, replace it if it is not working. But, since all elements of the triac circuit, including itself, are located on the electronic controller, it is better to call a qualified specialist for diagnostics.

After 3 unsuccessful attempts to start the engine, the washing program ends and the SM drains the water. Possible reasons:

  • Disturbances in the inventory circuit: ring the wiring of this section, strengthen the contacts, repair the wires
  • Break in the motor winding: replacement of the winding or the entire motor
  • The inventory itself is faulty: it will have to be replaced
  • The CM inverter board burned out: board diagnostics, repair or replacement

Once this problem is detected, the wash stops:

  • Thermal sensor is faulty: diagnostics and replacement
  • Open circuit in the heating element control circuit: ring the circuit, tighten the contacts and repair the wiring
  • The heater is burnt out: it will have to be replaced
  • The control controller is faulty: it is better to contact a workshop to check and repair it

Water supply is difficult or absent

If you find an error code on the display, do not panic; in most cases, you can fix the problem yourself. First of all, make sure that the water supply is functioning, in case the water in your house is simply turned off. If everything is in order with the utilities, check the tee valve; perhaps the liquid supply to the machine is simply shut off. If everything is fine with the water outlet, you need to inspect the filter mesh located on the inlet valve for blockages.

To examine and, if necessary, clean the filter element yourself, perform the following steps:

  • Turn off the power to the washing machine, turn off the water supply valve to the machine;
  • disconnect the machine’s inlet hose from the body, thereby providing yourself with free access to the mesh filter. Be careful, residual water may leak out of the hose, so be sure to use a dry cloth when unscrewing it;
  • remove the filter element from the structure: lightly squeeze the filter with pliers and gently pull it towards you;
  • clean the mesh; it is recommended to rinse it under warm running water;
  • if the contamination is severe, first soak the element for one hour in a special solution: pour 1 teaspoon of citric acid into a glass of warm water;
  • install the filter mesh in its original place, screwing the element in until it stops;
  • connect the water supply hose;
  • open the valve responsible for supplying water to the system, make sure that the connection point does not leak;
  • Plug the machine into the network and launch one of the special programs. If the unit draws water to the required level and finishes the selected washing mode, then the breakdown has been eliminated.

At the same time as washing the mesh, you can clean the inlet hose of the washing machine. It, of course, needs less frequent cleaning compared to the drain hose, but clean tap water still contains various impurities that will certainly settle in the cavity.

By installing water softening filters at the entrance to the automatic machine, you can improve the quality of the liquid entering the system and, as a result, reduce contamination of the washing machine elements. If the fault cannot be eliminated, it is necessary to proceed to the next stage of work, namely, diagnosing and replacing the water intake solenoid valve.

Error codes for Gorenje washing machines (WA-101/121/132/162/162Р)

On WA132/162/162P dual display models, the highest priority error code is displayed on the right display. In this case, the indicators corresponding to all (!) detected errors light up simultaneously. On models WA101/121 the LED above the shortened wash program button will also light up. The error indication continues until the SM is turned off.

Intake valve broken

The next step is to check the intake valve, which is also easy to do yourself. We find it under the top panel of the machine at the back wall. You can't make a mistake - it can be easily determined by the connected inlet hose and pipes connected to the powder receiver. Next we proceed like this:

  1. set the multimeter to measure Ohms;
  2. apply probes to each winding;
  3. We evaluate the result; if the displayed value is not close to 3 kOhm, the part is faulty.

What to do with a faulty valve? Just change it to a new one. We photograph the location of the wires and cords, disconnect them, then unscrew the holding bolt and remove the part.

The electronic controller (control triac of the drive motor) and the drive motor itself are successively replaced

Check the reliability of the electrical connection between the electronic controller and the drive motor.

Check the electrical resistance of the tachogenerator winding (should be 115. 170 Ohms - for SMs equipped with EVO-I controllers).

If an asynchronous drive motor is used in the SM, check the connectors and harness between the controller and the motor.

The drive motor and electronic controller are successively replaced

Check the electrical resistance of the temperature sensor (should be about 20 kOhm at 20°C).

If the above actions do not reveal a faulty element, replace the level sensor and electronic controller sequentially

For SM with EVO-I controllers:

  • — check the wiring and the presence of contact in connector CM1 of the controller;
  • — check the serviceability of the heating element relay on the controller;
  • - replace the electronic controller

Check the connection of the heating element to the electronic controller, if necessary, replace the heating element or level sensor.

If no faulty elements have been identified, replace the electronic controller

For SM with EVO-I controllers:

  • — check the presence of contact in the CM connector on the electronic controller;
  • — check the serviceability of the level sensor, as well as the integrity of the wiring from it to the electronic controller;
  • - replace the electronic controller

For SM with EVO-I controllers:

  • — check the integrity of the contacts of connectors CN1 and CNF on the electronic controller;
  • - check the serviceability of the level sensor and drain pump

Dpya SM with EVO-I controllers:

  • — there is no water in the water supply (or the tap is turned off);
  • — the electronic controller is faulty;
  • — the water inlet valve is faulty;
  • — the water level sensor has failed

Your actions

When faced with the problem of filling the tank, you need to start by eliminating such items as an unopened water tap, a clogged filter grid, or a clogged inlet hose. In order to check the latter, you need to turn off the water, disconnect it, and pass liquid through this part. The hose must not be pinched.

The next item is the filter, located at the entry point of the hose into the machine. It needs to be removed, inspected, and cleaned if necessary.

Check the pressure in the water supply system. The instructions for the Gorenje washing machine indicate what its optimal performance should be. Turn on the water in the sink or bathtub - with this simple technique you can detect weak pressure.

Pay attention to the connection of the unit to the sewer. According to the rules, the lower end of the drain hose must be at least 40 cm from the floor level.

If it is not possible to ensure such an indicator, the optimal solution would be to purchase and install a check valve. This small part fits onto the bottom end of the drain hose and prevents unwanted water from draining from the tank.

Pay attention to any leaks. The tank may be damaged, as a result of a clogged powder container, the washing solution overflows, or the channel leading from the powder receptacle may be disconnected/damaged. To check the latter, as well as the tank, you will have to remove one of the panels of the machine.

Causes of errors

There are different error codes for different model ranges of Gorenje washing machines. First, let's look at the codes and their decoding for the PG1 - PG5 line.

Occurs in the event of a break or short circuit in the temperature sensor circuit. Typically, such an error leads to the end of the wash without heating the water. That is, the machine draws water and, without being unable to heat it, completes the wash. An error code is displayed on the screen.

This code flashes on the display when the control contact of the hatch door is not activated, in other words, the door has not been hermetically closed and locked. As a rule, with this error, a blue key also lights up on the display. The most harmless reason for this is an unclosed hatch door (user carelessness, a piece of laundry got caught between the hatch and the door). In this case, you need to eliminate this and press the “Start” button again.

If this error code is still displayed, the hatch lock is probably broken or the limit sensor is faulty.

The reason for its appearance is the inability to reach the first water level in the tank. In devices of this brand, the first water level must be filled within 4 minutes. If this does not happen, a second attempt is made to fill the tank to the required level. If unsuccessful, this error code is displayed on the display. There may be several reasons for this - insufficient pressure in the water pipes, breakdown of water level sensors or water inlet valves.

F4 (E4 on models PG4 – PG5)

If this error appears in Gorenje PG1 - PG3 models , this indicates a lack of signal from the tachogenerator of the drive motor. As soon as the latter stops transmitting signals, the drive motor stops.

Models Gorenje PG4 - PG5 have slightly different design features , so for them this error code indicates a lack of motor speed control from the inverter board. The latter may not cope with the speed of the drive motor. In this case, the motor stops running and error F4 appears on the display.

F5 (E5 on models PG4 – PG5)

F6 (E6 on models PG4 – PG5)

Indicates insufficient heating of water in the tank after a certain time from the start of washing. More precisely, the error occurs if the water, after completing the heating step, is 15 degrees colder than what is provided for in the washing program. The main cause of the error is a breakdown of the heating element , although a second reason is also possible – a malfunction of the electronic controller.

Let's look at ways to eliminate the listed errors in Gorenje washing machines. For convenience, we will group solutions depending on the node where the error occurred.

Thermal sensor

If errors occur with this element, it is necessary to open the heating element housing. The required node will be located between the left housing contact and its central bolt. To check the temperature sensor, set up a multimeter on it, disconnect the resistance wires and take the necessary measurements. If the multimeter gives no indication, the sensor is burnt out and must be replaced.

Check the sensor wiring in the same way.

filling valve

Its task is to regulate the flow of water into the tank. If the machine does not draw water or, on the contrary, cannot shut it off, this indicates a breakdown of this valve. If such a problem occurs, you should first rinse the filter of the washing machine located at its base. The filter is removed with pliers and washed under water. If these steps fail to correct the error, you should check the filling valve with a multimeter. This can be done by removing the lid of the washing machine.

Water level sensor

To eliminate errors associated with this unit, you must first remove it and rinse the sensor tubes under water. If this does not help solve the problem, you need to check the sensor itself with a multimeter. If this does not help resolve the malfunction, you should begin checking the electrical communications that connect to the sensor.

Drain pump

One of the most vulnerable parts of washing machines of this brand. If a problem occurs, the pump is replaced. It will be easier to get to it if you place the machine on its side. Then the tester measures the resistance of the pump. If the tester does not show resistance, the part must be replaced.

This can only be done by unscrewing the fasteners and replacing the broken element with a new one.

Let's check the filter

Diagnostics begins with the simplest thing - cleaning the garbage filter. This is a plastic spiral on which dirt and other debris that gets into the machine settle. The element is located in the lower right corner of the Gorenye washing machine behind a round or square technical hatch. Before checking the plastic and cleaning it, it must be removed.

  1. Disconnect the machine from the power supply and water supply.
  2. Use a knife or screwdriver to pry up the hatch and, releasing the latches, open it.
  3. Lay a rag nearby or place a container to collect water.
  4. Holding the tab on the filter, unscrew the filter clockwise.

You cannot remove the garbage filter immediately after the end of the cycle - the water will not have time to cool down.

Now let's move on to the actual repairs. We rinse the filter under running warm water, after removing debris and deposits from the spiral. If the layer of dirt is too thick, you can soak it in a solution with citric acid for 20-40 minutes.

The garbage filter needs to be cleaned

You shouldn’t limit yourself to just cleaning the garbage filter. At the same time, it is better to immediately check the pump, volute and drain pipes for blockages. We take a flashlight and shine through each element, and if we find foreign objects, we pull it out with tongs or pliers. We pay special attention to the pump impeller, on which hair often gets wrapped up, causing breakdown and error F7.

Incorrect temperature sensor configuration

Another reason for the lack of heating is a faulty temperature sensor. Some models of Gorenje washing machines, such as MV65Z23/S or WEI72S3, have a built-in error transmission system. That is, if the thermostat turns out to be faulty, the machine will continue to wash, while the control module will turn off the heating element so that overheating does not occur.

You can wash in cold water, and this will not affect the quality if you use premium powder.

Other conditions

3.2. Official copyright holders of trademarks who have noticed similar elements in the content of the Site have the right to contact the Site Administrator for clarification. If agreements are reached, controversial and random associative elements can be removed by the Administrator or modified to the point where the association with the registered trademark is objectively lost.

3.3. This Agreement establishes the complete absence of any relationship between the Site and the official representation of any brand, manufacturing or trading company registered in the manner prescribed by law. 3.4. 3.5. The Parties are released from liability for complete or partial failure to fulfill obligations under the Agreement if the failure to fulfill obligations was the result of force majeure, namely: fire, flood, earthquake, strike, war, actions of government authorities or other circumstances beyond the control of the Parties.

Final provisions

4.1.
