  • F This error can only appear when running a service check. It means that during the spin cycle the drum rotates more slowly than necessary. The message indicates an engine malfunction. This happens if the drive belt has fallen off, the drum is difficult to rotate, or there is a problem with the motor or system board.
  • F The motor control unit cannot transmit a signal to the main module. This means that the circuit leading to the central unit is broken or burned out. You will need to ring and restore the faulty link.

An error will be displayed and further washing will be impossible.

Check the door. Close it and press START. Repeat again if the car does not start. Check: door lock, connectors and wires.

E3- Low water level.

The water level is checked constantly during filling. If the error occurs for the first time, the machine will repeat the first step of pouring water automatically. If the filling attempt fails again, the washing program will stop and an error will be displayed. You can continue the washing program by pressing button S1. If the error appears for the third time, the washing program stops and it will not be possible to start it further. An error will be shown.

E4- Open or short circuit in connection with the tachogenerator.

LED indicators: All indicators flash 4x (½ second ON, ½ second OFF) and 5 seconds PAUSE. Note: Error E2 may be shown when the motor thermal protection has tripped or the program has been restarted after error E4 was shown.

The signal from the tachogenerator is always checked when the engine is running. When executing a washing program, when the motor is running, but the signal from the tachogenerator is not received, for the first time, there will be a pause of 1 minute. After which, the motor will be started again. This will be repeated thirty (30) times if no signal is received from the tachogenerator. Each time, the remaining time until the end of the wash will be increased. After 31 unsuccessful attempts, the washing program will be stopped. After this, if the water temperature is above +60°C, for cooling purposes, water will be poured for 30 seconds, then drained. The washing program will be completed. An error will be shown.

The connection to the tachogenerator is broken or short-circuited. The drum does not rotate, the motor does not turn. Check: motor (brushes, windings), tachogenerator, connectors and wires.

E5- Short circuit in the motor field winding.

LED Indicators: All indicators flash 5x (½ second ON, ½ second OFF) and 5 seconds PAUSE.

The error appears if the washing program is active, but the motor is running without monitoring its field winding. The washing program will be stopped immediately. The motor operation will be rechecked after 2 minutes. If the error does not recur, the wash program will continue. If it still appears, the washing program stops again. After this, if the water temperature is above +60°C, for cooling purposes, water will be poured for 30 seconds, then drained. The washing program will be completed. An error will be shown.

The motor field winding is short-circuited. Check: the motor and the control board.

E6- The water level does not fall below level 1. The drain pump is clogged or faulty.

LED Indicators: All indicators flash 7x (½ second ON, ½ second OFF) and 5 seconds PAUSE.

An error appears if, at the end of the heating step, the water temperature in the tank is more than 15°C below the set value. The washing program will then be completed as normal. The error will be shown at the end of the wash program only if it occurs twice in a row.

The error appears when the rotation speed is 200 rpm or 20% below the nominal speed, at the end of the rotation step. The error will be shown at the end of the test program.

Check: motor, voltage.

E9- Water leak detected - AquaStop.

LED Indicators: All indicators flash 9x (½ second ON, ½ second OFF) and 5 seconds PAUSE.

The error appears if the signal from the AquaStop sensor is received for at least 2 seconds. All valves and the heater turn off and the motor stops. The signal from the AquaStop sensor is checked again after 3 seconds: if the error does not appear again, the washing program will continue. If the error continues to appear, the water will be drained within 2 minutes. An error will be shown and the wash program cannot be started again.

Check for water leaks and turn off the water supply.

E10 - The signal from the water level sensor is not received or is outside the calculated range.

The error appears at the beginning of each filling of the tank with water if the signal is not received. The wash stops. The error appears if an overflow signal is received from the pressure sensor. In this case, the drain pump is switched on directly by the contact group of the pressure sensor. The error appears if the valves are damaged or the pressure sensor is clogged. The valves are turned off if the error occurs 5 times within 2 minutes. The washing program stops and an error will be displayed.

What does the error mean?

The appearance of error E7 on the Gorenje display always indicates problems with the drainage system. In simple words, the machine cannot pump water out of the tank: the drainage is too slow, and within the measured time the liquid level does not fall below o. First, the washer tries to repeat the reset, but after the second unsuccessful attempt it cancels the cycle, stops responding to user commands and displays a warning code. The Gorenje washing machine has difficulty draining for several reasons:

  • the drain filter is clogged;
  • the pump is faulty, clogged or has lost connection with the control board;
  • the pressure switch has failed;
  • the control board is broken.

The symptoms of each listed failure are almost identical, so without diagnostics the cause of the failure cannot be determined. Error code F5 → the motor control triac has failed. In principle, the same as in the previous paragraph. The only thing is that if this error appears, then be sure to also check the triac that controls the motor. The triac is located on the control module. Something else needs to be noted here, that for some models this may mean the following

  • Engine speed can be significantly higher than specified (for SM with control system PG1 - PG3)
  • Loss of communication between the electronic controller and the inverter (for SM with PG4 and PG5 control systems)

Error code F6 → the washing machine does not heat the water. There may be several reasons. First of all, of course, you need to check the heating element, that is, the heating element, and then according to the list below

  • Contacts on the heating element → very often burn out or even break
  • Thermistor, also known as water temperature sensor
  • Heating element relay on the control module

The pressure switch pipe is clogged

If the drainage is clean and the pump is working properly, then the cause of the failure may be the pressure switch. This is a level sensor that sends data to the board about the degree of filling of the tank. If the device does not work correctly, the module does not receive the necessary information and does not give a command to drain. The system stops and displays error E7. To check the serviceability of the pressure switch, you must:

  • disconnect Gorenje from communications;
  • remove the top cover;
  • near the right wall, find a pressure switch - a black or white plastic “box”;
  • loosen the screws holding the sensor;
  • remove the “box” along with the connected hose;
  • Inspect the device for damage and blockages.

A visual check is not enough. It is recommended to find a tube commensurate with the sensor fitting, place it against the pressure switch hose and blow lightly into the hole. A working device will “respond” with 2-3 clicks due to closed contacts, and a broken one will ignore the air flow. In the second case, replacement is necessary.

If the drainage, pump and pressure switch are working properly, then there is only one option left - a failure in the control board. It is strongly not recommended to diagnose the module at home. It’s better not to take risks and entrust the inspection and repair of electronics to professionals.

Secondly, you can switch the tester to voltage measurement mode. During this test, it will be determined whether the sensor produces current or not. For diagnostics, the probes of the device are applied to the contacts of the tachogenerator, while the engine is rotated with the other hand. If the values ​​on the multimeter screen change (within 0.2 V), then the sensor is working.

The tachometer rarely fails, so special attention should be paid to checking the integrity of the wiring connection.
