Fault codes related to water filling and draining

E11 – water is not being filled into the tank of the machine or it is flowing very slowly. The reasons for this error are as follows:

  • the filling valve is inoperative or its electrics have broken down;
  • the winding of the filling valve has burned out (normal resistance is 3.75 kOhm);
  • clogging of the inlet system or lack of water pressure in the water supply system.

E13 – water seeps into the bottom of the machine.

EC1 – the filling valve is blocked.

E51 – poor contact of the electric motor triac.

E52 – information is not received from the motor tachometer to the electronic board. Most often in such situations, the washer that holds the tachometer falls off.

E53 – the circuit controlling the electric motor triac is interrupted on the electronic board.

E54 – the relay contacts that provide motor reversal are stuck together.

E55 – engine electrical circuit is open.

E56 – the tachometer signal does not appear for a long time.

E57 - system current is more than 15A, the reason is a breakdown of the motor or electronic board.

E58 - the phase current of the electric motor is more than 4.5A, the reason is a breakdown of the motor or electronic board.

E59 – 3 seconds there is no signal from the tachometer, this may indicate a breakdown of the wiring between the motor and the inverter element, or a breakdown of the inverter board.

EA3 – the DSP system does not fix the electric motor pulley. Need to check:

  • drive belt;
  • DSP system;
  • electrical wiring;
  • fee.

Fault codes related to water heating

  • E61 – the machine does not heat the water to the selected temperature in the set time. In case of such an error, check the resistance of the heating element, which is equal to 30 Ohms.

Important! This error in automatic washing machines is available for viewing only in diagnostic mode.

  • E62 - water heats up very quickly and after 5 minutes has a temperature of almost 90 0 C. In this situation, check the heating element for breakdown, measure the resistance of the heating element, which under normal conditions varies from 5.7 to 6.3 Ohms.
  • E66, E3A – heating element relay failure.
  • E68 – grounding in the heating element circuit has tripped.
  • E69 – heating element does not work.

Sensor related fault codes

E31 – the water pressure switch is broken. If such an error occurs, change the wiring or the relay itself.

E32 – frequency fluctuations of the sensor responsible for water pressure. This most often occurs due to:

  • blocked water supply;
  • filling valve malfunction;
  • drainage filter clogged with debris;
  • broken water level sensor tube;
  • faulty pressure switch.

E33 – the sensor that determines the amount of water and the sensor that prevents the heating element from turning on “dry” are not synchronized. Check required:

  • sensor performance;
  • serviceability of tubes;
  • voltage leakage to ground;
  • whether the voltage in the network is exceeded.

E34 - this error is displayed for about a minute and indicates inconsistent operation of the anti-boil sensor and the pressure switch.

E35 – too much water has been filled into the tank, check the pressure switch.

E36 – ABS heating element protection sensor does not work.

E37 – L1S sensor does not work.

E38 – the tube leading from the tank to the pressure switch is clogged, so the pressure difference is not recorded.

E39 – the sensor protecting against water overflow HV1S does not work.

E44 – the hatch door closing sensor does not work.

E71 – the temperature sensor resistance does not meet normal limits.

E74 – the location of the temperature sensor is incorrect.

EC2 – the sensor that detects water turbidity does not work.

  • high-quality spin (usually 1000 rpm);
  • high quality washing;
  • the presence of many programs, including for delicate fabrics;
  • leak protection and much more.

The only disadvantages worth noting are the small loading volume and lower energy efficiency. Some users also note that such machines are less reliable compared to more expensive ones, but this trend is not always visible. So, among the budget options of the Italian manufacturer, the most optimal in terms of price/quality ratio, availability and reliability are the Zanussi Aquacycle 800, 900 and 1000 models, respectively. The Zanussi Aquacycle 800 washing machine is one of the younger models in the rating (not counting the very simple Aquacycle 600). It is the simplest and most primitive of all. This machine is suitable for those who just need to do laundry, but don’t have the money for an expensive machine. So, there are practically no modern technologies in it, washing programs are implemented to a minimum. It is no different in terms of efficiency. Among the advantages are the following:

  1. The washing quality is quite high (level A), which once again proves its purpose as a classic washing machine.
  2. The presence of special programs (delicate wash, super rinse, wrinkle prevention, etc.) - so the user does not have to look for a more expensive model for several additional modes.
  3. Optimal load of laundry (4.5 kg) - this capacity is quite sufficient even for a small family, and there is no point in overpaying significantly for a slightly larger drum.
  4. The machine has an imbalance control system, overfill protection and other controllers, which also presents it in a favorable light.

The model is not without its shortcomings, which is very important to consider when purchasing, so as not to regret the money spent later. Here is a list of the main ones:

  1. The most common spin (speed - 800 rpm) - when washing, you should not hope that the percentage of humidity will be minimal, since the machine spins weakly.
  2. Low energy efficiency - the machine does not have energy and detergent saving modes, so it wastes quite a lot of them, which is a kind of tribute to its cheapness.

Aquacycle 900 is a more advanced model of the previous one. It is also very simple, does not have any additional functions (such as drying or ironing clothes), but has slightly improved characteristics. This model is suitable for those who used the 800 version and want to replace it with a similar model (if the old one is out of order). The advantages of Aquacycle 900 are as follows:

  1. sufficient capacity (4-4.5 kg of laundry);
  2. good washing quality (class A);
  3. availability of special washing modes (for example, delicate wash)
  4. electronic control of the device (this is a significant change compared to the previous model, which was mechanical);
  5. efficiency;
  6. protection against leaks, control of foaming, imbalance and other useful functions.

The Aquacycle 900 does not offer revolutionary changes. It still remains a budget washing machine, capable of performing only the simplest functions. But the problems that were in the previous version are fixed here. Therefore, when choosing between two devices, you should give preference to the newer one. But you shouldn’t idealize it, because it also has disadvantages - insufficient spin (900 rpm), average washing quality, rather large sizes for its type.

Zanussi Aquacycle 1000

The Aquacycle 1000 is the most advanced model of the three. If a future user has money, but wants to buy a budget model, then this version will be the best. After all, a normal spin is already installed here (about 1000 rpm), there are convenient controls, and other additional functions that adorn more expensive models. Zanussi Aquacycle 1000 has advantages in everything over its younger brothers. These are the following characteristics:

  1. improved spin (1000 rpm);
  2. better assembly (the machines last for years without breakdowns);
  3. efficiency;
  4. low noise;
  5. the presence of special technologies, for example, Eco valve;
  6. additional modes for washing clothes;
  7. protection against leaks, control of foam formation, etc.

Still, the shortcomings of the model can be recognized by comparing it with more expensive and higher-rated options. This is a rather average spin, and small capacity (only 4.5 kg, which is quite enough for a small family), and imperfect controls (there is no display), and less quality washing. But the user knows what he is getting into when he tries to buy a cheap washing machine.

To summarize, we can say that the Zanussi Aquacycle 1000 is the best choice of three almost equal washing machines. It is worth purchasing even for those who have money for a more expensive device. The budget Aquacycle series impresses with its low cost and reliability. You can pay mere pennies for the device and use it for years, which is not always the case with top models. Due to the fact that little technology is used, there are fewer breakdowns. Yes, and it’s easier to deal with such a machine. The model is recommended for purchase by those who live alone or in a small family and need a trouble-free device that is easy to operate and performs its functions efficiently.

Other errors

  • E40 – the hatch door is not closed or the door lock is not working.

Let's celebrate! Code E40 is extremely rare; basically, a similar problem is encrypted with other codes.

  • E41 – the drum door is not tightly closed.
  • E42 – the hatch lock does not work, the part needs to be replaced.
  • E43 – the semiconductor element (triac) responsible for locking the door lock does not work.
  • E45 – parts of the triac circuit of the drum door lock do not work.

How to enter diagnostic mode on a Zanussi, Electrolux or AEG washing machine

Sorry, but the article should be too long, since I will try to talk about all possible modifications of Zanussi, Electrolux or AEG washing machines. I'll start with the simplest ones, that is, under the control of EWM 1000 (+). Washing machines with a similar control panel have two main versions, in (photo 1) the horizontal arrangement of the buttons is shown, in (photo 2) you will see the vertical arrangement of the buttons. To enter such SM into diagnostic mode, you need to perform the following actions

  • put the selector in position 0 (OFF)
  • then connect the SMA to the power supply
  • press the buttons as shown in the photo
  • while holding the buttons, turn the knob to the right, to the first position
  • after all this, you should see either the lights flashing or a beep

Test mode for AEG, Elktrolux and Zanussi washing machines controlled by EWM 1000 (+)

There are 7 fault checking modes for this line. In order, we will now list them. It is important that when switching from one mode to another, you take a 5-minute pause, otherwise the diagnosis may not be correct. Be sure to remove all laundry from the bin

  1. Having entered the test mode, we immediately enter the first diagnostic mode, that is, the program selector should be in position 1. In this mode, the buttons are checked; if you press the button, it will either blink or hear a sound signal (in models with vertical button arrangement)
  2. Turn the selector to position 2. Here you check the valve for filling the water into the main wash dispenser. The lock should also work, that is, the hatch should be blocked. The water level is controlled by a pressure switch, so water should not accumulate more than required
  3. We turn the knob further and set it to position 3. Here we check the water inlet valve for the pre-wash and, just like in point 2, the lock should work, and the level is controlled by the water intake sensor
  4. Mode 4 simultaneously turns on both valves. You need to turn the selector to position 4. Everything else is the same as in paragraphs “2 and 3”
  5. Mode 5 is not used in the line we are considering. It can only be seen in those washing machines that have three valves
  6. We put the selector in position 6 and go to the sixth mode. Here the heating element and water temperature sensor are checked. If the water level is less than the level, the SM will add water to the required level
  7. In the seventh mode we check the engine. We move the rotary knob to position 7. In this mode, the SMA draws water to the desired level, then the motor turns on, first in one direction, then in the other. After this, the engine revs up to 250 rpm
  8. In mode 8, the pump (drain pump) and spin are checked, that is, the engine speed will be maximum. The selector should be in position 8

Now about error codes. The last error can be seen as follows: you need to put the selector in position 10, after which the start and pause buttons will start blinking, we need to count these blinks. To exit the test mode, you need to turn the machine on and off twice. Now how to clear the error, in order to erase the error, you need to put the selector in position 10 and simultaneously press the buttons, as in Figure 1 or 2. Zanussi Aquacycle washing machines: FE and FJE series

The machines of these series have similar functionality and design. The difference between the series lies in their sizes.

Washing machines Zanussi Aquacycle FE 925-N

The FE and FJE series machines are equipped with a number of functions that were not available in previous versions, namely:

  • linen imbalance control system;
  • cycle stage indication;
  • special program for woolen products;
  • the “proprietary” system from Zanussi “Eco valve system”, which is a special ball valve in the drain hose of the machine. The valve closes the hose tightly during the washing or rinsing process, preventing water from leaking from the drum, which saves water, detergent and energy and washes with higher efficiency;
  • automatic cooling of the drained water to a temperature of 60 degrees, if the cycle was carried out at a temperature of 95 degrees. This allows you to avoid large temperature differences when rinsing and prevents the laundry from becoming too wrinkled.

In addition, the more “advanced” representatives of the line have an electronic control system in the form of a microprocessor, which keeps under control all modes and parameters of the washing unit and, if necessary, adjusts them to improve the result. It is electronic control that provides equipment with a higher energy efficiency class (A), and also saves water and time.

Washing machines Zanussi Aquacycle FE 1026-N

The series are represented by the following modifications: FE 1025 G, FE 1004, FJE 1204, FJE 904, FJE 1204-G, FE 1014-N, FE 925-N, FE 1024-N, FE 1026-N, FE 1006-NN.

Washing modes

Unlike the letter designations of modes in the previous series, here programs are designated using familiar icons. The capabilities of machines of these series are represented by the following modes:

  • white cotton; program temperature 60 – 90 degrees;
  • colored cotton; program temperature 30 – 40 – 60 degrees or wash without heating;
  • washing cotton in economy mode at 60 degrees;
  • washing synthetics and mixed fabrics; temperature 30 – 40 – 60 degrees or without heating;
  • washing thin and delicate fabrics; water temperature 30 - 40 degrees or without heating;
  • wool washing; temperature 30 – 40 degrees or without heating;
  • delicate hand wash; temperature 30 - 40 degrees or without heating.

Washing machine Zanussi FE 1006NN

In the younger models of the FE 925-N, FE 1024-N, FE 1014-N, FE 1004, FJE 1204, FJE 904, FJE 1204-G series, hand washing and cotton washing in ECO mode are not provided.

This machine is a transitional link between the FA and FJE series.

Zanussi Aquacycle FE 1025 G

This is a full-size model, capable of washing 6 kg of laundry, which is an excellent indicator for Aquacycle washing machines, and spinning it at a thousand revolutions.

The design and controls of the model are reminiscent of the FA series: the same two rotary programmers for selecting the washing mode and temperature. But there are five buttons on the middle part of the panel. With their help, you can set such additional functions as pre-wash at a temperature of 30 degrees, a quick program for lightly soiled laundry with a half load of the drum, economical washing at a low water temperature (washing quality is achieved by increasing the time), intensive rinsing (two additional cycles), draining the water from the tank and pausing the program.

Control panels of washing machines with a mode selection knob equipped with EWM2000 controllers can be with a display and light diodes, or with diodes only. Appearance options are shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2.

To enter service mode you must do the following:

  1. set the mode selection knob to the “off” position;
  2. simultaneously press the “start” button and some other button, as shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 (in Fig. 2 these are buttons 2; in relation to other control panels, the purpose of the buttons may be different), and hold both buttons , turn on the washing machine (in Fig. 2 - with button 1);
  3. hold both buttons until the LEDs start flashing.

Flashing indicators indicate that the machine has entered service mode.

In the zero position of the mode selection knob, we check the operation of the user interface (buttons and indicators). When you press a button, the corresponding LED lights up.

In service mode, you can check the functionality of individual machine components. To do this, turn the selector knob clockwise and check all modes step by step:

step 1 - check the water supply to the main wash compartment;

step 2 - supply water to the pre-wash compartment;

step 3 - supply water to the air conditioning compartment;

step 4 - supply water to the bleach compartment;

step 5 - heating and recirculation (if any);

step 6 - check for leaks (the water drum is started at high speed);

Step 7 - Check drainage and spin cycle. The consistency of signals from analog and protective level sensors (pressure switches) is also checked;

step 8 - check the operation of the dryer (for SMA with drying).

At all steps, the serviceability of the hatch lock is checked; also, at the moment of filling the water, the time of filling the tank to the overflow level and the operation of the pressure switches are checked.

In service mode, you can view the latest Zanussi errors (Electrolux errors) and also reset them.

In order to reset Zanussi errors (Electrolux errors), turn the program selection knob counterclockwise two steps from the “off” position. The latest Zanussi error will be immediately shown on the display panel. On panels without a display, the corresponding light diodes will light up (for example, in Fig. 2 these are groups 3 and 4), indicating an error in the binary code. You can convert the binary code into the corresponding letter or number using Table 1 (a black circle means that the indicator is lit).

How to decipher the icons?

Control panels can be designed in different ways. It’s good if the modes are signed, as, for example, in the ZWS 5107 model. But in most machines of this brand, control is carried out using graphic icons. So, the Zanussi Aquacycle 800 modification does not have any inscriptions - just symbols. The meaning of some signs is intuitive, others have to be deciphered. The instructions and our article will help with this.
